Hi everyone my name is Christopher Currie and I am 23 and from Dallas, Texas.  I have been using eBay on and off now for many years though I have become very involved since July.  This is the first time I have every bloged so feel free to offer me any suggestions that you may have.

For those of you who do not know me my main userid is currie5382 and I have the store Dallas Couture which specialises in runway, couture, and bespoke designer clothing and accessories.

I am addicted to eBay and love the spirit and community that it creates, I really do mean that and am not just saying that to follow some sort of eBay corporate policy.  What is so wonderful about eBay is several areas: the community, independence, the thrill, the marketplace, and the overall experience and friendships.  Participating on eBay is to join a community that has shared values and you are participating in one of the original online social networking communities that has been around for far longer than Facebook or MySpace have even existed.  Part of the beauty is how you're able to connect people who are seperated around the world together and where they are looking for a common item.  I cannot count the number of close friendships which have resulted as a direct result of eBay.

Since I love to travel, fashion, electronics, and shopping eBay is able to provide me with the ability to create a career doing what I love.  For that it is totally unique and wonderful.  Also I love the hunt of trying to find something which I've been looking for forever or buying something for a bargain or winning an item when I've been in a bidding war.  The bidding wars are addictive, both as a buyer and as a seller, there have been so many times I would just sit down and refresh the screen when item would break out into a bidding war and see what would happen.

I also love to be able to sell extremely rare, one of a kind items.  Some of my favorites have included the Hermes Kelly handbags I have sold, an Hermes Chateaux Historiques de la France silk scarf, the Hermes Plumes Silk scarf, and an extremely rare never used or dipped Parker Golden Anniversary Fountain Pen in its original purple lacquer case to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the corronation of Queen Elizabeth II.  The pen was stunning not only were only 2002 made but the pen was solid 18k gold and had her entire corronation speech engraved into it in her own handwritting!

While I mainly sell very well known designers, labels, and brands I also love boutique brands and artisans which might not have the name recognition here but are known for exceeding the quality and ability to create totally unique items that the major firms don't do anymore.  One example is the Italian firm Valextra which I am addicted to and cannot buy or have made enough from them.  While Louis Vuitton and Goyard are far more famous, Valextra continously surpasses both of them and yet you have something that is totally unique to you and creates an even deeper attachment to it.

Also while runway, couture, and bespoke fashion has been my focus since I started I am also expanding into electronics.  My goal is besides finding all of the latest and greatest accessories for everyones Blackberrys, Treos, and Motorola RAZR V3 and V8 phones also find extremely gorgeous one-off bespoke electronics.  For example while I will sell those items I would also like to offer my buyers something like a Vertu for example which creates the same sort of emotional bond with the user that an incredible piece of couture clothing is able to do too!
