Ebay and Ebayers need a Boost!

Ridiculous Items for Sale on Ebay - and Stupid Rules!!

So what is the Most Ridiculous thing YOU seen on for Sale Ebay? How do you feel about people making Mega Bucks from Outragous claims, as Haunted this and that, or Tatooing advertizing on a Person's Body, or items that claim to be in the Shape or Appear to have an Image of something Holy on them??? And taking this one step further, What Rules do you think need to be introduced to keep the STUPID off of Ebay, if you think EBAY should be a Serious Market vs Entertaining, and OR what Guidelines do you think are too Strict, maybe something You would Like to Sell OR what Rules do you think Other Sellers or I should say in this case, Con Rip-Off Artists are taking Adavatge Of,  that need to be Revised?

I liked the alien duck x-ray. That one was all over my local news. Or how about the monster in a ziplock that came out from under the bed.

Well if there is someone stupid enough to bid on it then why shouldn't they profit off of it. They have their own section for the weird and strange. If you don't like it, just do not go and look in those catagories. Hey I once saw a new bar of irish spring soap, still in the box go for several hundredS of dollars. *shurgs*

In Canada we had a federal election in the fall and someone sold his vote on ebay. He gave up his right as a Canadian citizen and sold his vote. I can't recall how much it sold for but it was a significant amount and got him in the headlines too. Amazing! I did not hear about the ones Brandi mentioned - those are truly wierd.

I'm not really offended by it and find a lot of the auctions funny, and I like a good laugh. If it's stupid, and someone is stupid enough to buy it, now that's funny! It doesn't really take away from anyone, and I think is part of what makes ebay, ebay. You can sell anything you want to anyone who wants it! Besides, then the Jay Leno bit called "Things We Found On Ebay" would be over! Please no!

hi, I revised this so now I will add previous comments back to it.

I mentioned: Lately I have been selling used textbooks, to help parents who homeschool, or want to review with thier child over the summer, etc. I discovered that Teacher's Editions were not allowed. Well if the school system saw no problem selling them to me, and some parents are not so self assured teaching and need a TE, I don't see a problem. Ebay stated a student could buy that item and use it to cheat. actually they could buy it anywhere, if they wanted to badly enough, and my books are quite old, 5 years plus, I doubt if they would benefit any student.

then, I posted that I was wondering why some listings that aren't ouragous still get removed by Ebay??? a good point by:

Didn't someone once sell the ghost of a relative?
Sometimes it is not

the item you are selling...it is what you are advertsing it to be. For example, a seller is perfectly free to sell N95 respirators / masks. But if you mention bird flu in your listing, it will be pulled. Why? Because there was a feeding frenzy on such masks after media reports, a special Oprah program on the bird flu, etc. that caused the iventory of 3M masks in the USA to dry up. Apparently, the US govt / FEMA was afraid if there was a bird flu outbreak here in the US, they would not be able to get ahold of masks to make them available to the public (fear of another Michael Brown-type fiasco). So the government asked
Ebay to yank any listing that referred to "bird flu" or avian flu", with a hope that would cause the demand to wane. The reason given is that the seller is representing the masks for use for medical purposes. It does not matter that a listing might directly quote the US government's own website (CentersUS govt can say it...but an Ebay seller can't. What happened to Free speach? ( for Disease Control) that these masks should be used as a preventive me

Yes I do like the the less serious items, and often if I have no place to go, I will just cruise Ebay to see what's up for Entertainment, LOL but then again it puts me as to why then do they restrict some things that aren't Outrageous, for Unfair reasons,
- the Road should go Both ways, Reins Free or Legitimate -

on a serious side here, I was looking for CPU's last night. How can Ebay allow people to sell computer parts that are NOT Tested, Not guaranteed to be in working order, Buyer Takes Chance Auction, I mean isn't that like a lotto ticket? a person can make a ton of money selling bogus parts. I think all Electronics should be tested and sold in working condition. yet Ebay is allowing this. heck I could go thru a trash can and sell - broken take a chance junk - too... but I have more respect for my ebay friends then that.

I tried to sell a "Fine Art T-Shirt" for a million dollars. Ebay said it was a "joke ad" and pulled it even though it was getting a ton of hits. For god's sake, I was serious! I wanted to sell that t'shirt for a million dollars! If other artist can sell crap art for exorbitant prices, so can I! Who can put a price on art??

I BELEIVE YOU SHOULD BE ABLE TO SALE ANYTHING YOU WANT TO MAKE A $. THIS SIGHT IS A GREAT WAY TO MEET NEW FRIENDS AND FOR PEOPLE TO JUST BE THERESELVES. IF I COULD COME UP WITH A HILARIOUS LISTING BELEIVE ME IT WOULD BE UP FOR AUCTION TODAY. THE BUYERS ARE THE ONES THAT PUSH THE BID BUTTONS NOT THE SELLER.

I've been trying to think of something entertaining too, that dude who invented the Pet Rock, was on to soemthing, even if it is a short lived gimmick, ya make money, I mean well, that's funny, not a health hazard, doesn't permanently alter anyone's body, doesn't relate to something religious..I mean that is good clean fun and an honest product. We should put our heads together and come up with Ideas, esp. with Christmas coming...some kind of great New Fad for Gifts!

THAT's EXACTLY WHAT I MEAN ---nascartycoon !!!! E-X-A-C-T-L-Y-!!! yes we all Agree, we LOVE to see those silly things on EBAY and feel it should be a Free Enterprise and hey ya don't Have to Bid on it! RIGHT? the WHY are SOME Outrageous Things Permitted..and Other's Removed!!! that is MY POINT! I mean what's going on here??? WHO makes these rules, do they read their own rules, do they have meetings with their STAFF who edits these as what is allowed and not? or is it just their each own's personal opinion as it Seems to be? or is it, ONLY items EBAY think's they'll make a Big Commission profit Off Of, and the rest of us, are taken off? I know Money Talks and Ebay needs to decide, do they wanna make all kinds of money, being a Free and Open Market to anything as long as it; causes No Harm to another, no National Security Risk, Nothing Illegal or Immoral, and is completely advertised as honestly, i.e. not leaving anything out, as to whether it Works or Not, Broken or Damaged etc.. should be ALLOWED or do they want to become a Serious Market Place for people trying to make a living or a few extra bucks? ya can't say This Ebayer can sell Square Chicken Eggs, but this other Seller Can't! RIGHT????

I've seen an auction for somebody selling Family for Christmas... to be a fill in Family for somebody lonely who would not like to be alone. Yeh it seems terrible for a person to have to pay for companionship, But 1.) charity work is down these days, because people have to work 2 jobs just to make ends meet, but 2.) ya never know, they might strike up friendship and next year they'll come again only for Free, or 3.) maybe there's a Good Reason...nobody visits them for Christmas..LOL

I don't wanna look at that smut while I am looking for something unusual. and they way they listings are worded my heavnens..come get my pussy.. come on...EBAY ALLOWS listings to be titled like that????
HELLO???? AND did you notice on Ebays complaint system now, you have to complain within thier guidlines they won't let you just submit an e-mail message genral complaint anymore. talk about ears closed.

http://everythingelse.listings.ebay.com/Weird-Stuff_Totally-Bizarre_W0QQfromZR4QQsacatZ1469QQsocmdZListingItemList

if they are gonna do adult material like that then it should be listed under ONLY ADULT MATERIAL AND ITEMS not under anything else so kids or who ever can't accidentally get to these listings while trying to find something Unusual.. Plus if they are going to ALLOW porn images in the listing gallery then a double password
must be required to verify AGE!!!!!
