Archive - July 2008 What do you think about the new evaluation system?Posted Jul-12-08 14:07:35 PDT Updated Jul-13-08 13:37:01 PDT Do you think that the new evaluation system might result in buyers abusing the sellers? As a seller, I certainly feel the pressure. It's not the good kind of pressure to do better service as eBay aims for, but very bad pressure from the sheer fear to have unreasonable buyers passing my store, and click on my items. For instance, there is one buyer who forgot to change her email address at eBay, but only uses the eBay email system to contact me for arrange for an exchange. After writing her in vain message after message that 'an exchange is totally doable", I got a negative evaluation for "not responding to the buyer". Does that sound fair? Here is what one of my buyers told me "je suis la cliente et le client est roi" ("I'm the customer, and the customer is king") - Is this sort of abusive behavoir or am I just old-styled? According to the new rules, buyers don't get a negative evaluation only if they don't pay - shouldn't other bad behavoir count other than money-matters? Please feel free to write, whether you are a buyer or a seller. If you think the new system is good - Great, I need some encouragement; if you think the new system sucks - Great, I need to be sympathized with... Looking forward to hearing from you!! Everyone Can Be A Super ModelPosted Jul-09-08 23:26:44 PDT Updated Jul-09-08 23:40:44 PDT I'm convinced that everyone can be a super model. Even less than 6 months ago, I was still placing clothes on the floor or on the best plastic mannequin one can possibly find on the market in order to take the best pictures possible and try to sell on eBay the great clothes that we carry in our local store in south France. Until one day, someone took a picture of me wearing one of the "In Love" (a French brand, but with an English name) coats because he thought it was just deliciously beautiful on me. I then realised why my customers had passed by this wonderfully tailored coat at very attractive eBay price (less than half of boutique price!), because this particularly coat looks just unflatteredly dull and pathatic on the floor - because it's a coat, not a carpet! Well, there goes 90% stock of this coat, and there starts my modeling career. I consider myself a "super model", not the kind of super model of who's 6 feet tall and weighs 100 lb and wears tons of make-up, but the kind of super model who values creativity and develops great taste, who enjoys great things in life and has a profond love and appreciation for stylish clothes. Here, I invite you to become a super model at our store!
