Back from Gen Con: Off to ConClave

Well, okay, I've been back from Gen Con for a WHILE. I've been a little bit busy (or lazy, take your pick) to keep up with regular blog posts, though. Suffice it to say, the Con went great! Our new products, dice bags and flexible dungeons, were big hits. The dice bags are now already available in my ebay store...keep watching for the flexible dungeons: they are coming online soon! This weekend I am off to ConClave 31, where I hope to see and hang out with many of my old dear friends! I'm also speaking in a couple panels; one on painting minis and one on comic book art, so that should be fun! Anyways, hope to see you there, and it's back to business as (un)usual on Monday! -Andy

Whoo-Hoo!!! Goin' to Gen Con!!!

Dark-Platypus is off to Gen Con, where we will be displaying and selling our products in the main Exhibitor Hall!!!! This is my first time doing this, and I'm really excited about it! We will be there with the full line of tokens, life counters, and even a couple brand new and very exciting products! If you are going to be there, please come on by and say 'Hi!"

Obviousely I won't be doing any shipping for the remainder of this week, but never fear, I will ship all of this week/weekend's orders out on Monday! :)

The ORIGINS Report

Hey All!

Got back from Origins Game Fest last night...we had a great time! Here's a brief rundown of what I did:

We got there too late on Thursday to really do anything much, but we got our badges and spent a couple hours wandering around and seeing what all was going on where.

On Friday, Erica and I got in on a D&D 'Tournament'. It was really just three tables running a similar adventure, but it was still pretty fun, as I generally don't do a lot of role-playing at cons. Then Erica went off to play Silent Death, and I found myself the Texas Hold'em tournament. Didn't take me too long to lose, and then I spent the rest of the night playing Are You a Werewolf? (I wasn't).

Saturday my fun was wandering the Dealer's room and doing lots of Demos. The Order of the Stick boardgame was memorable. I also got to learn to play 'Kobolds Ate My Baby!" (more on the significance of that later). Hi-larious!!! Then we met Matt and his fiance Lori for a big ol' italian dinner. Too pleasantly full after that for more gaming, so that was it.

Sunday was shopping day --especially for more sculpting putty, and then packing everything up to go home.

My thanks to everyone who stopped by the Z-Man games booth to check out or buy my products, and also to everyone who shopped at Magnificent Egos (especially if you bought the 'Small Dungeon Terrors' set, 'cause I sculpted that one!).

I am now home and it is back to business as usual, and getting ready for Gen Con!

Happy Birthday to Me!!!

Today was my Birthday, and I had a blast! :)

We went bowling (me, Erica, Jon, Andrew, Chris and Jeremy), and I bowled a 196!!!! Some of you out there may go *pshaw*, but I bowl only about once a year, and my average is somewhere around 110, so this was a pretty good day for me. Best game ever, in fact.

Work today primarily involved figuring out everything I need to do to get ready for Gen Con.

That's right, you heard it here first: Dark-Platypus Studio will have a table at Gen Con this year! If you've ever bought anything from me or just like my work, and you're going to be there, please stop on by and say 'hi!' I will be at booth number 1825.

By the way, that 'everything I need to do to get ready for Gen Con' I mentioned earlier...it's a lot. I better get busy!

Oh, on a similar note, I will also be attending Origins this coming weekend! I won't have a table there, but my product will be available for sale at the Z-Man Games booth (not sure of the booth number). I'll just be going to have fun 'cause I won't get to play any games at Gen Con. Shipping should not be affected overmuch: I'll ship on Thursday before I leave, and again on Monday after I get back, so your internet orders should still get there fast! :)

I TOLD you I was Batman!!!

Pictures of me and Erica in the Batmobile at the recent (May) Motor City Comic Con! My thanks to all my fans and friends who stopped by to see me. We had a blast! :)
