This is just a little note about my dog Amy who we had to put down over the weekend, she has been sick for a while with a heart murmer and enlarged heart, then on Friday her kidney's failed.  It was a very hard decision as she was still able to walk around and she recognised us.  But the vet advised us that she was in pain and there was nothing we could do to help her and no cure.  I know many have been through a similar experience, it is so hard., how do you get through it? how can you be sure you did the right thing?
 
Amy has been my girlfriend's dog since she was 16, and she is taking it so hard, it was so traumatic.  Our pets mean so much to us, and it seems to be especially the case in our community because their unconditional love is such a support, at least it has been for us.
