Note: This is just comedy so don't take it too seriously and have fun. The reason for this post is just to tell few stand-up like jokes. I watch alot of stand up so here we go. One day I saw this couple at my local subway, they ordered two sandwiches and left then they came back and ordered two more a few minutes later. The guy asked "What's on your vedge Delite" and I was thinking "How much crack have you been smoking." or where I live, "Lay off the meth, your retarding yourself!" The couple leaves and one of my friends that works there Nate said "That's an ugly couple!" I said "They're perfect for each other, the girl didn't bitch about his stupid question." My town is boring and lonely but at least it's not dangerous dispite the Ku Klux Klan population and I'm related to people they want to kill like French and Native American. We don't get drive-bys but we get honk-bys or yell-bys very annoying at times. The only thing I like about this town is the Mexican population, they are very nice people not like the spoiled rich European(white) brats that don't like you unless you have a nice car the shallow jerks. Because of my Cherokee side at times I'm mistaken as ether part Mexican or Japanese, one time I went to a collage building for art class and the manager thought I was one of the janitors there, to mess with her I said, "Si" but too bad I would have got away with free money to blow on some hot date. But really I look like a sexy female librarian face wise...but I'm a dude. I have a odd figure, I'm big and buff but also feminine. Glad I'm not in the criminal underground, I would not do good in prison, I would be gangbanged so much I wouldn't need to drink anything. I hang out at a coffee shop all most all the time because I don't like to drink, I'm a loose and fun loving dude and beer would just grease the wheels. The people in this town have a different brand of homor then I do or in otherwards none, It's hard to make these people laugh at times. these people are almost crazy, they're almost as miserable as a new yorker but yet they have the sence of humor of a SS stormtrooper...am I in the Middle East? For instance The GTA3 Guy of Grand Theft Auto III because for a silent type he can do dirty deeds done dirt cheap(not too cheap). Tommy Vercetti of Vice City becuase he's pertty funny for a sociolpathic mastermind. Carl Johnson of San Andreas because he really loves his momma for a hardcore gangsta. Crypto of Destroy All Humans because he talks very tough for a three foot hamster from outer space. Orthopox 13 of Destroy All Humans because I would like to be a mastermind of a planetary invasion but the no sex drive thing would be a damper. Ratchet of Ratchet and Clank because I like his Lumbax Spunk(no I'm not gay for Ratchet nor am I into furries ha ha). Edger of Area 51 because Marilyn Manson was badassss as a sick gray. The Definition of Elitism.Posted Apr-23-08 21:19:16 PDT I Watched the Colbert Report from yesterday and Colbert was arguing with Susan Jacoby about elitism, it was funny that they argued over the meaning of being an elitist. In the Oxford dictionary the definition of elitism is "advocacy of or reliance on leadership or dominance by a select group". In otherwords elitism means a strong believe of a ruling class and in a more simple term people that think their better then everybody else. With my experiences of the world I know one thing that's very hard to lie about and that thing is there's no such thing as a perfect human being hell I'm not perfect, one time I accidentally made out with my old girlfriend's twin sister by mistake(the room was dark) then yet sometimes mistakes arn't so bad, huba huba. So in reality the very thing that makes a elitist is this "they believe they are better then everybody else" and you don't have to be smart, strong or powerful to believe that, some the people that work or used to work at my local "Subway" believe their better then everybody else(talk about clerks!). with my self studies of Psychology people with that attitude usually lack social skill and that is a very important skill to have to survive and fuction in society. Yet people with that attitude can end up poisoning society with foolish ideas like what happened with the witch hunt in early Amarican history, the Nazi movement in Germany and what really fules wars other then the lack of forfilling basic needs. Another reason for this is maybe they are suffering from a Axis II menal illness or "Personality Disorder" like ani-social or scizotypical. Yet that side of the mental illness isn't very well reasearched(the psychologists mainly study the Axis I or III disorders) for the fact that these disorders don't affact the person's other fuctions other then social skill yet I only read a 1991 book on psychopathology so the science might be different these days. So the bottom line is that the people who think they are better then you are really just crazy or jerks, even those 1% people are not superior(plenty of those people won't even give their wealth to their own kids when they die the selfish bastards it's not like they're going to "buy" a new car and place in the afterlife) sometimes I think the money owns "them" not it so I feel more sorry for them then envy, Jesus Christ was once offered all the wealth and power on Earth but he turned all that down why, because money doen't buy happyness nor does Elitism! How To Design a Cartoon CharacterPosted Apr-22-08 16:35:10 PDT Updated Apr-22-08 16:53:23 PDT Plenty of Artists would say you have to be born with the ability to draw or paint like an expert, but of course that's a bunch of bull. All artists encluding myself practice our hands off to get where we are in art skill, I literally developed a slight grove in my right index finger from all of the drawing practices and work I do. I'm just going to point out some of the important aspects on designing cartoon characters, some artists may say differenly but these are important in my studies on design: 1)What roles are your characters in - Designing cartoon characters isn't much different from designing movie or stage characters, there's your hero, comic relief, know-it-all, personal issue driven, mentor, seductive and many more(I almost forgot the all important bad guy). If your designing a comic relief character for instance you would have this character dress in bright cloths, have the character smile and be happy almost all the time and crack jokes every chance the character gets. Number 3, Mikie, Cosmo and Kenny are good examples of a comic relief character. Of course this also depends on what kind of story or world your characters exist in. 2)How Diverse are your Characters - One of the common mistakes designers would make is they would make characters look too much the same(Unless the characters have uniforms). You don't want to draw two characters with identical body shape or facial looks unless your designing twins like the twins in the Simpsons, that's okay. 3)Are your Characters Memorable - The best cartoon character designs are the most memorable. The reason the Loony Toons or Disney characters are still around is because there's somthing about them that people can't forget. The best ways to pull this off is to make your characters somehow really relatable to people or completely out of this world; yet the comic relief characters are the most memerable when it comes to Animation and Cartooning. I'm SOOO Sick Of Bad News!!Posted Apr-16-08 19:38:49 PDT Updated Apr-16-08 19:48:09 PDT Sometimes I watch or read the news and I just have to get this off my chest sort of speak, I'm tired of seeing stories like school shootings, drug busts, teachers having sex with their students and lots of other bad news, yes it happens but the news crew choose to cover those stories far to often. I know that fear brings ratings but is it really nessesary? People watch or read the news because they want to know what's going on beyond their normal routine or other words it's a very basic need. let's put it this way, it's like if subway said "if you don't eat here, you will grow fat, get a heart attack or die of starvation."(Ironiclly they do somewhat) So I would like to see more positive things for a change or at least tone down the fear factor; there's probably plenty of people out there developing personality disorders from watching too much of this trash(to me that would answer a question from the movie "Bowling for Columbine"). I've almost lost my breakfast hearing about a kid turned into roadkill on KING 5 news this morning, sick! Oh and the today show, at times it's alright by most of the time it's just unessesary social conventinal propaganda like for instance love relationships, that topic is not about the group but about the two people in love and that's one of the few things out there that you can't set "group" norms, I should know my old girlfriend was a tomboy and that brings my last point but not related to the topic, there are no mental differences between the genders. Coming Soon - Animation Fan Art Of Psychonauts - DLBPosted Apr-16-08 10:15:28 PDT -Coming soon- I'll be selling an art piece that I haven't made yet(I'll start making the artwork this friday and I do have a sketch out but that's not for sale). It's fan art on my favorite cult video game classic "Psychonauts". When I say "cult" I don't mean Wako or "The space ship is coming." I mean something like "Pulp Fiction" or the guy who made movies about fat girl fedish kind of cult. For the people that don't know Psychonauts is a platform video game about a kid with psychic powers name Raz that sneaked into a summer camp for the mentaly gifted to become a psychonaut(that's just the nut shell version). The game has a lot of Psychology reference like the "collective unconscious - Dr. Carl Jung" and clearvoance. What I have planned for the artwork is a self-portrait of me as Raz and by his side Lili, Raz's girlfriend fighting imaginary CIA operatives and dangerous girl scouts in the "Peranoid Schizophrentic" mind of Boyd or known in the game as "The Milkman Conspiracy". That's one of the most fastenating aspects of this game, there are six characters with distinct mental illnesses like Boyd(out-of-work security guard) with Peranoid Schizophrenia, Gloria(ex-actress) with Bi-Polar Disorder or manic-depression, Edger(Painter) with Obesessive Compulsive Disorder and if you played the game I'll let you figure out the others. Another aspect that makes this game so unique to me is a character that almost has the same last name as I but her's is "Barge" and mine is "Berge", funny I almost have a cartoon relative(Hint: she's the one of the campground kids and wears a space helmet). My Favorate American Made CartoonPosted Apr-13-08 23:02:19 PDT This is a difficult choice to make, I love a lot of Cartoons made right here in America, the Simpsons, Family Guy, South Park, Auqa Teen Hunger Force, Rocko's Modern Life(The cartoon that got me into cartooning), but all of these shows are not on top of my list. By my personal opinion my top Cartoon made on American soil is Codename: Kids Next Door. Sounds ironic for the fact yesterday I wrote that my favorite Anime was a bloody and dirty cartoon "Dead Leaves" but yet I love a cartoon made in the US of A that is made for the much younger viewers. I have lots of reasons to like this cartoon like the fact that even if its cheezy at times somehow it works out. For the ones that don't know, Codename: Kids Next Door is a animated TV serious on Cartoon Network(The show got canceled some time ago). It's about this organization of secret agent kids that secretly protect the rights of kids by building military weaponry, armor and aircraft completely from scrap and use them to battle psychopathic adults especially the one that reminds me of saten named mainly Father. Another aspect that I love is plenty of the jokes here if understood would make people my age really laugh for example the Episode Operation: N. U. G. G. E. T. when Number 4 discovered a gold mine of chicken nuggets(a history lesson on the great gold rush or the 49ers), it started a boom town. When he entered a tavern it was a little too authentic they had girls dressed up as boom town prostitutes. In Operation S.I.T.T.E.R. Number 2 is hitting on Number 5's sister Cree that's babysitting him, strangly it brings back memories. But the character that really brings the adult humor is Number 1's girlfriend Lizzy, like a Brokeback Mountain joke, sex with a cousin joke and my personal favorate the line in operation G.I.R.L.F.R.I.E.N.D "If you so much as scan my boyfriend sideways, your in big trouble!" Makes me wonder what the word scan really means. And the brilliance of these Jokes is that their made to where they're not easily offensive so this cartoon serious has somthing for everyone...well almost; one important lesson I've learned in the art world, you can't make an art piece that will appeal to everyone. This Cartoon is a major inspiration along side Dead Leaves but it really inspirated an animated movie concept that I've been working on for months now(The visual proposal is almost done and still have some work on the screenwright) that originally was a novel concept. If I can't get a producer to pick it up well I'll make it into a comic book for Marvel or some other comic book company, but it will be a movie one day! My Most Favorite Cartoon from Japan - Mature Readers OnlyPosted Apr-12-08 21:37:19 PDT Updated Apr-12-08 21:45:14 PDT On this post I want to tone down a little and just talk about my most favorite Anime cartoon from Japan, a little hour long cartoon called "Dead Leaves". If you've watched it good, if not here's a fair warning, it's not for the kiddies especially with the S&M undertone. One thing I could tell about the artist(s) that created this insane toon, they love Acid, this cartoon is so crazy even if you never tried Acid you will go on a trip just by watching this cartoon. The reason I really love this cartoon is that they experimented on how much ridiculous and senceless violance they could put in a hour and made the pace like a fast and ferious 45 minute car chase sort of speak. The story of course makes no sense at all but that wasn't what the artists were going for anyway but here it goes. It starts out with the two heros(Main Characters) naked in a middle of nowhere. For the fact that they have no memory of what happened or who they are, they named themselves after what makes them, them. The guy with a retro TV for a head(like I said, crazy) named Retro and the girl with a red spot on her left eye named Pandi, later they found themselves in a city, get some cloths and started to reck havoc on the populace by getting guns, robbing a bank, stealing a car and fighting off police in the most cartoony ways but somehow badass to the core. But of course they get arrested and sent to a moon prison that they will later learn that it's really a bio-weapons facility and they have been before as spies working on a secret project. I can't talk about the further details here because I don't want to spoil the shocker scenes for one and two there are some very sexually suggestive scenes. This cartoon extremely inspirated my art style in visual and storytelling(a little). It even inspired a beta version of the first episode of the comic strip "The Toon Drifters" called "DieHard Seattle", it's about a attack on Seattle by a Muslim extremist named "Smallpox" and it's up to a group of drifters to stop "her" attack!(Fine art on Smallpot is on sale by yours truly, check it out by clicking "Items For Sale") Life's a Journey, Not a Destination - PerfectionPosted Apr-11-08 22:12:57 PDT Updated Apr-11-08 22:24:14 PDT This post was inspired by some of the comments of the previous post "Judge not unless ye be judge yourself". So here's a little something about me, I'm not perfect. I do lack intelligence in certain aspects but who doesn't when it comes to the multiple intelligence theories. Albert Einstein may be brilliant with physics, but what about his sports smarts. Martin Luther King Jr. is very high in his moral development and has outstanding public speaking skills, but what about his military smarts. Lewis Black is a funny Comedien, but what about his ablility to control himself. We all have our short comings and some are different then others, some people are secure with their short comings and the others Lie about theirs. I've always look at myself as a comic reilef character on the stage of life or the anti-hero (unconventional hero). It's seems that my role in life is to make people laugh, have them feel better about themselves or take the sting off their troubles. Besides I was almost half asleep during the making of the last post and for the people that pointed out the spelling mistakes, I apologize for that and thank you for pointing them out.
