Ramblings from behind the fridge.

Thursday Night (again).

Quietish day off home at 19:30 to feed my animals and get ready for my last day before I have a week off work (fingers crossed nothing to haunt me when I return).

By now any returning readers will have noticed that I cannot type and spell at the same time.

Wednesday night ramblings and rumblings.

Spent the morning at work, the afternoon in a staff meeting and 5pm to 8pm at MYHOTEL Chelsea eating sandwiches and cakes (1 of each) and drinking champagne (1) and smoothies (2 large) - what a nice way to spend an evening.  Only spoilt by the two hour journey home and my total lack of funds at the moment.  Walked about a mile at lunchtime to discove that the copy of AMAZING STORIES - VOLUME 1 had been sold from the charity shop where it had been in the window on Sunday for only £5.00 - never mind.  I am off work from Friday and apart from having to pop in a couple of times (Thursday Night and Friday Afternoon) will be off for 9 days my longest, not signed off work by a doctor, break in what seems like years.

Bue Monday - reasons and moans to follow.

Well am spending a rainy Monday sitting in bed with M&S cookies and BLADE RUNNER on TV.  Got home at about 7:30pm Sunday (was out at 9:00am to work) and managed to leave a brand new hardback in the toilet on the train (An H P Lovecraft Hardback £20.00 - Purchased on the 16th May and I had only read the first 1 and a half stories - Bugger !  I will have to buy another one next pay-day).

I know it is probably a matter of positive thinking but I am the sort of person who loses things, or has things damaged and broken, and my friends are the sort of people who find money in the street and are given things.......this can be irritating at times.

For example a "friend" stayed with me last year and caused a couple of hundred pounds damage to my house and actually managed to kill one of my cats.  The cat cost almost £1,000 in vets bills (not that it mattered but it did leave me skint) and I am in the position of replacing the damaged items.

I am agravated at having to wait another year/18 months to see if I will get bank charges back from NAT WEST and I got my first credit card in years on Wednesday and discovered it had been "cloned" by Friday and had to be cancelled.  I am also agravated that I was passed over for progression twice (with no explanation) and that my salary is down £2,400 as a result - this means I shall spend an hour or so in a meeting on Friday 6th arguing for money that should have just been in my pay packet.

So today I chill, relax, play with the cats, do some ironing and watch as many old SF movies as possible.

Saturday Away.....

Watched some old movies and gave myself a MYSPACE and FACEBOOK page whilst browsing the now free FRIENDS REUNITED pages.  Discovered that the first girl I ever (French) kissed is on there and said hi - hoping I don't come over at all stalker(ish) - will be popping out to pay some cash into the bank and was thrilled to see I had sold some more LORD OF THE RINGS postcards which I will be able to send out on Tuesday.  I am working at Chelsea Register office on Sunday (12:30 and 13:30 weddings) and met Dexter Fletcher at a weding there on Friday morning - a really nice person and with the most charming wife - a smashing couple.  Strange to think that he was in fils as different as BUGSY MALONE and DOOM.  Stuck on pair of Rugby tickets on my notice board and decided to give the others to the first person who wants them.

Rugby Tickets, Coffee Beer and Cats.

Friday evening and I am watching TV and wondering what to do with two pairs of RUGBY tickets which I will not use and cannot seem to give away. As the RUGBY is in about 12 hours it is too late to sell them on EBAY (and difficult to get them to a buyer if I did).  I tried some coffee beer from Waitrose but did not enjoy it very much. The cats are in a mood as I had some tinned salmon and refuesd to share. Nevermind.

Thursday waiting for news of NAT WEST.

Today is the day for all people trying to get money out of their banks. Will the banks appeal or will they just give in and pay back the millions of pounds they take off customers who go overdrawn?  Had a quiet day at work - some people came to mend the computers - and then went aaway again and I read an article about a man who became an EBAY millionaire (before the age of 30) selling parts of PLAYSTATIONS.  (Jamie Murray was his name - the article was a sort of EBAY promotion fluff piece).  The cats are all well apart from the oldest (17) who has a bit of a cold/infection which will with luck clear up soon - lots of extra food and TLC.  Looking forward to the Bank Holiday weekend - even though I am working on Sunday.

Watched the DVD of Sweeny Todd (Depp/Burton) last night did not like it so much in the cinema but it is growing on me - only a few DVDs away from 3,200 now - lucky I have a loft.

Have only four items listed on EBAY at the moment but my "Dracula" Cuff-Links turned up and are pretty cool, I am just awaiting receipt of my Roll-Up Keyboard.

Have decided to go back to internet dating and see if a wine swigging, movie buff girl is out there for me (Preferably with a bit of "Gothyness" in there somewhere) was a member of Match.Com for a while but let the membership lapse, also considering plentymorefish (though, at 42, I am in the "Silver" fish section - bloody cheek!) and friends re-united now that it is free!

Tuesday and the wallet is empty...

Well it is Tuesday 20th May and I am empty of wallet. My credit cards are gone - one was cloned and havd to be destroyed (another in the post) and the other was lost some time ago (also in the post) the bank account is empty haveing had a very cheap spree on DVDs and whilst I am owed all sorts of money nobody has actually paid me yet.  I am attempting to retrieve £3,000 from Nat West in bank charges and there is an ongoing pay dispute at work which I hope to resolve in early June 2008.  The EBAY sales have slowed down and there are a couple of items that I hoped would sell that just didn't shift so I will have a break once the latest three or so items have finished.  On the buying side got a Roll-Up keyboard (to much about with) and a pair of Cristopher Lee (Dracula) cufflinks.  There is no late night working today so should have an early and a quiet night (though I may decide to go and see 'SPEED RACER'). Saw 'IRON MAN' (again) on Sunday and 'La Boheme' on Monday night at the Chelsea cinema and got home again earlier today for four hours sleep before coming back into work..

Brandy, Rocky and Cat's bottoms.

A good warning against the evils of drink.  Fell asleep on the sofa woke up to ROCKY II on TV and a cat sitting on my face - lovely.  Planning a slow Sunday as soon as I sort out the wireless internet (fingers crossed).

Home time blues....

Off home at 17:25 - hurrah !  The OFF LICENSE or Supermarket will be called at and I shall be spending the (last half of the weekend) weekend watching movies and " Chillin' ".  No major catastrophes at work (lost 50p somewhere) and will also be, with luck, setting up my new wireless router so that I can surf from all over the house.  "Clovernet" will hopefully be go by the end of the day - a bit like Terminator's SKYNET but cuddlier and without the nuclear capacity.  Have a good weekend to all of you out there and if you are looking at my items for sale the OZZY book is a great little item (and could be yours for £1.00) the SKY postcards will come as a freebie with it, as nobody seemed to want them.  Tried watching 'TIN MAN' on Sci-Fi last week and thought that it was seriously contrived borrowed heavily from the '10th Kingdom' (but without the laughs) and that the Wizard of Oz revisted thing could have been so much creepier and adult.  Never mind perhaps episode 2 will be better....

Forgot I had a blog and let it slip for a couple of weeks....will do better in the future.

Well am working Saturday (in charge of the Chelsea Register Office (London)) and watching the various Brides and Grooms making their way through.  About 12 couples will "tie the knot" here today (35-40 a week about 2,000 a year - including same sex couples - now legal in California).  Went on a small spree yesterday as I got a new credit card (dangerous I know) and got a phone call from the company to say they thought my card had been "cloned" confirmed most of the purchases but there was a suspicious payment to iTunes so they have agreed to send me a fresh card to be on the safe side.  I got some smashing SKY postcards and listed them on EBAY but nobody seemed to like them so decided to give them away as 'freebies' if they do not sell.  I have 5 cats who are having a great weekend as I treated them all to some fish. Have some DVD watching to catch up on Sunday (BRIDGE TO TERABITHA and FRASIER (Series 9)).  A few beers some snacks and a house full of slightly "fishy" smelling cats.
