Archive - July 2008 I hate my job - Today at least !Posted Jul-31-08 05:58:32 PDT Updated Aug-01-08 08:03:50 PDT Well looks like I have to spend my lunchtime printing out copies of my revised job description and getting them signed for my manager. Who says he is considering leaving. He has also chosen me to be a hatchet-man in the case of a little office re-modelling which is not very good as I am the least confrontational person in the office. I have gone through a fair bit of the extra money I made this month and am hoping that the remaining couple of weeks till I get paid again are light on the wallet. Still getting huge amounts of "spam" from African ladies - who say they are interested in my profile - BUT HAVE NOT READ a single line about me and have to keep asking who I am - they must think I am as dense as a neutron star and as wealthy as Bill Gates.. The joy of working Saturday!Posted Jul-26-08 00:05:39 PDT Updated Jul-26-08 00:06:04 PDT Off to work now 08:00 to do a wedding a 11:00 and another at 16:00 the whole day will be quite lucrative but it does take up the whole day. I am able to claim 2 "sessions" which equal 5 hours of almost overtime pay (I don't get proper overtime pay). I will then be able to offset this against two days of lost pay for going on strike on 16th and 17th July (ho hum). If I swing past HMV I may actually get the X-FILES set as it seems too good to miss. Odd thought - There is an American company that makes the world's best (they claim) sex dolls called Abyss Creations - they tend to feature on late night TV a lot - one features in the film LARS AND THE REAL GIRL - they sometimes turn up on EBAY second hand (they are about £3,000 each) - but that raises the whole issue of "Second Hand..." They are often described as having various sorts of damage - they always seem to be selling though. The last one I saw looked like the "Hunch-Front of Notre Dame" and must have been a special order as the woman if alive would have kept falling over and was the most bizarre shape - c'est la vie ! In closing... Two fish were in a tank and one said "Can you drive this thing ?" Thank you for the offer...but !Posted Jul-25-08 12:28:46 PDT Updated Jul-25-08 23:55:01 PDT Well got a very nice e-mail from an ebayer telling me to check out their items for sale. Looked and there was nothing there - sent a polite note and was told to look again only to discover a selection of used ladies clothing. Not being Japanese, a lady, transvestite or fond of knicker sniffing declined again. Why ? Will be off to Brompton Cemetery on Sunday (breakfast - cemetery - pub and possibly Batman - will be taking lots of photos and covering my MYSPACE and FACEBOOK pages with images. Spent a funny week trying to get all my work done - and failing - trying to tidy the house - dito - and spending a lot of money on pub food and bottles of "CAT on EGG" wine ! My small glare of cats is having a great time trying to stare me out and the postcards I was selling on ebay seem to have come to a grinding halt - I have probably oversaturated the market - the last one I sold is going to America which wipes out any profit but may boost my feedback. I managed to get both ANGEL and BUFFY boxed sets (complete series - every episode) and am seriously considering the X-FILES set from HMV £75.00 all 9 series equivalent to £8.34 a series - a total bargain - but do I have enough cash (£20.00 a series or £180.00 in most stores and £18.00 a series in ASDA). The truth is out there ! Sleepless in Sutton !Posted Jul-22-08 15:21:43 PDT Well spent sunday trekking around HIGHGATE - and today (22nd July) went to see WALL-E which was cute but still not as good as THE INCREDIBLES which I still rate as the best PIXAR movie. Got a FAB Lacoste bag for £30 (reduced from £77) in T K MAXX so am now the owner of a rather nice poppy red duffle bag. I have gone through a chunk of the money I got from work - mostly paying off expensive debts - and so am hoping that I will be having a lucrative few months. Still getting lots of e-mails from African ladies - who don't red this BLOG - never mind. May make it along to Tower Hamlets, Kensal Green or Brompton on Sunday after a TWO-wedding Saturday. Saturday at the Wedding factory and other disasters !Posted Jul-19-08 02:07:54 PDT Updated Jul-22-08 15:22:21 PDT Well am at the Register Office all day after having downed a bottle of red wine and a Chicken Tikka Masala - not a good idea - managed to pick up a handful of DVDs at a Woolworths store that is closing in Clapham Junction. There are five weddings today but by avoiding doing any actual work I hope to do only two one at 12:00 and one at 16:00. I am then off home (via the shops) to get some cat food and am planning to visit Highgate cemetery on Sunday where I have not been for a couple of years - fingers crossed for some good weather. This time I may actually pay the fee for a "camera permit" as I have always avoided doing this before - if I do then I shall be posting the photos on MYSPACE and FACEBOOK. The number of African ladies trying to get money out of me seems to have dried up and I am talking to a lady who actually seems to live in the US a lady who appears to be into kinky sex in the UIK and a young lady who judging from her photo is bright orange. There is also a fab picture of the exquisite Eileen Daly on her MYSPACE page.
Strike and Shopping !Posted Jul-16-08 13:04:26 PDT Well the Register Office was on strike today - at one point I WAS the picket line. (First strike in 171 years) I was on the picket line till lunchtime and then went to POUNDLAND where I purchased over 60 concert DVDs which will take me about 2 months to watch - brilliant ! Also got the new animated BATMAN DARK KNIGHT DVD and series 1 of PUSHING DAISIES which I have only seen snippets of but looks wonderful. Life is nice without an overdraft. Current DVD total almost 3,400. BLOCKBUSTER beware! Sunday watching QI - and playing with the cats.Posted Jul-13-08 02:22:37 PDT Updated Jul-13-08 23:00:03 PDT Watching QI with the cats and washing some seat covers so having a very lazy Sunday. Custard Powder was invented because the inventor's wife had an allergy to egg. Also the French have no word for custard as they believe it does not exist. Moan of the day - I have VIRGIN cable and really missTHE SIMPSONS - the box sets come out at too slow a rate and I want to see NEW episodes. I watched 'THE ADVENTURES OF PLUTO NASH' and 'NIGHT WATCH' last night which are both great movies in different ways - 'PLUTO NASH' is supposed to be incredibly bad but has a wealth of details and the future is as good as 'TOTAL RECALL'. The plot is very reminicent of the Hammer film 'Moon Zero Two'. I am considering buying some SKULL bed sheets for my spare bedroom as they are quite nice in the Littlewoods catalogue but I fear that it may scare people away (much as my coffin in the lounge does - used for books and as a long coffee/coffin table). Need to get into POUNDLAND next week as they have a load of Concert DVDs and some old ELECTRIC BLUE stuff on DVD the concert DVDs are great value and all over EBAY for between £2.50 and £5.00 - of course in POUNDLAND...
Changed my Image today (Why so serious ?)Posted Jul-12-08 11:38:54 PDT Changed my profile picture to one that looks a bit more casual than the photo of me taken at work. Also added a couple of new photos to my Social Networking pages. http://www.myspace.com/jabberwockysnark http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=678558688
Last post and Police on television.Posted Jul-12-08 05:50:21 PDT Well my last post generated a lot of feedback. My point was really (and I thought I was clear) that anyone reading any of my 3 blogs (which are pretty similar) should know that I am the sort of guy who likes the whole process of dating and "wooing" a lady... I will spend money and am not mean (ask any of the ladies I have dated in the past) but am shocked that people on the internet ask for money after swapping only 1 or 2 e-mails. I was on match.com in 2007 and had some very nice dates two ladies in particular were very nice - one got back with her ex and the other came to visit me in the UK for a very enjoyable and wet visit (It rained almost every day) Photos are on FACEBOOK and MYSPACE. My EBAY Blog is a place for me to let off steam in writing. On another matter..... Today I was amazed at a Policeman (BBC1) saying that knives are "UNCOOL" (he could have added "Daddy-O !" and would not have appeared less convincing) - about as up to date as Cliff Richard. Also police forces stated they had been targeting groups they believed to be carrying knives and that 2% had been (that means 49 out of 50 were wrongly being watched - I wonder what signs the police are looking for...? I bet I could pop out to the shops and spot people carrying with a higher percentage hit rate than 2%) another police force said an amnesty had retrieved 680 knives (about the same as sold in one branch of Woolworths and probably all old unfashionable ones that were dumped because they were replaced - a bit like the old mobile phones they collect for charity). Fingers crossed the police get some training in spotting people carrying knives - and also in not making weird statements. Deleted my last post as it seemed to give the wrong impression...Posted Jul-12-08 05:48:57 PDT Updated Jul-12-08 06:07:49 PDT Need to clarify here not stating that nobody would ever get a penny from me just that I like the whole dating thing and would not be lending or giving out money at short notice. I only set up my FACEBOOK and MYSPACE account last month. Oh and to the lady (I hope that asked) I do not have back hair (is this good or bad ?) and do like large American ladies as long as they do not have to travel in flatbed trucks... I might date somebody on FACEBOOK or MYSPACE but would have to get to know them as much as possible first. http://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=678558688 http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=383153261 My last post was the following... Just a few things - firstly all the information that you need to know about me is in or on my MYSPACE of FACEBOOK pages...
There are photographs a description of me and my status - (Divorced) work, where I live and appearance.
I use my REAL Name and Surname.
I will not be sending money to anyone who is just chatting over the internet for a few days.
I will stop talking to anyone who turns out to be lying in either e-mails or their profile.
If you are Sonya from Idaho and I get e-mails from Alison in Kenya asking for funds I shall stop chatting.
I am looking for friends and certainly would be thrilled if I found a partner, soul-mate or wife on the internet but this will be only after lots of chatting meetings and conversations.
To be blunt I want to really know a person before I offer them a ring and marriage and certainly anyone who asks for funds for broken PCs, Visas and sick grandparents will no longer get a response from me.
Likewise people who have post dated cheques and other financial problems will be deleted from my list.
I owe I owe (again) it's off to work I go (again) - It's the Circle of Life !!!Posted Jul-09-08 23:00:49 PDT Well I spoke to several people that had contacted me on EBAY one seems to have genuinly sent me photos from Africa and another (who looks like Charisma Carpenter in a model shoot) seems to be genuinly in the US. However the US lady mentioned something about having post dated cheques for large sums of money. The next thing would probably be could I advance some funds or some such complicated scheme. I was selling an item and got a message asking if I would sent the item immediatly for £15.00 strange as the item had "Buy It Now" for £1.50 so I would have ended up owing the person money...also when you responded it took you to a page asking for your EBAY username and password - this page on closer examination was NOT EBAY. Sent a message saying they were welcome to have my item for £1.50 like everyone else....weird! MYSPACE, FACEBOOK and INTERNET SCAMS.Posted Jul-09-08 12:02:25 PDT Have been using FACEBOOK and MYSPACE recently and have been deluged with messages from ladies with model quality photographs who say they live in the US. It then turns out that their families have died and as a result they are visiting relatives in AFRICA. They are very heavy in saying they are looking for a soulmate and then after a few e-mails ask for money to fix their PC. They usually have a very bad grasp of English which is unusual for an American as if anything their command of english is usually perfect if a little over verbose. They must think I am fresh off the boat - which is presumably what they would like to be. Back at work and not enjoying it......Posted Jul-07-08 12:07:02 PDT Updated Jul-07-08 12:35:42 PDT Am back at work at work and not really enjoying it - I need to find out if I shall be on strike next week for two days - two days of lost earnings - and I had just sorted out my pay packet too. made the mistake of starting to collect Concert DVDs and discovered there are about 50 in the set (I also collect Ronnie Barker, Charmed and John Wayne DVDs each month - works out at about £48.00). I am on my third book in about 6 days so am slowing down... (used to polish off a book a day). Seriously need to sort out my office today (or this week) - 8 days to pay day will I survive? Hope that my BLOG is being enjoyed also on MYSPACE and FACEBOOK where I seem to be inundated with e-mails from ladies looking for a special man (they all have terrible backstories and all seem to live in the US but are unable to type in whole sentences - one was looking for a man that was above all a "woman". Have invited them all to be "Friends" and will happily chat to the ones who stay for more than a couple of days. Have a huge degree of mistrust for anyone who starts "Hi Handsome !" - I am not that vain. I am also not that self deluded either. I am not Andrew Lloyd Webber (neither am I Bad Pitt). No celebrity weddings today...Posted Jul-03-08 22:21:43 PDT Well my last day at work - no weddings this weekend - managed to sort out my back-pay and am geting an extra £1,799.25 in my pay packet this month (and move up one pay level) worth about £10 a week. Got another OSTRICH egg in Waitrose so that I can repeat the entire experience of last weekend and the giant omlette (probably not with chips this time).
