The all-important console cable

While shopping around and bidding for used Cisco routers on eBay, be aware of one of the most important and most forgotten items – the console cable. This cable is the critical link between your laptop or PC and the router you hope to configure. The console cable is typically a baby clue cable, six feet in length, that has an RJ45 connector on one end and a DB9 on the other. The RJ45 end will connect to the console port on the router and the DB9 end connects to the PC. Most folks will use the standard Hyper Terminal that comes with Windows to use as the interface for configuring the router.

Connecting two routers together

Datacenters large and small have at least one router to route traffic from the Internet to their local network. Many companies will have multiple routers to control security and also to route traffic from multiple locations. Because the most popular router is made by Cisco, you often see these folks using a cisco cable in order to connect these routers together in a back-to-back style configuration. If you’re datacenter has multiple routers to connect together, you’ll also want to be sure that you’re getting the clocking on the correct end (this is the DTE and DCE business).

Considerations for new commercial space

When perusing new space to run your eBay business from, you may decide that it's best to buy a space rather than lease one. Of course, not everyone has the capital to even put the down payment down. If you're one of the lucky who does, congratulations. Many folks quickly learn of all the complexities involved when considering commercial space. One of the areas we quickly learned about is the hiring of an environmental consultant. Wether you go through the bank or the SBA for your commercial loan, you'll be required to complete a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment for the subject property. Banks and the SBA require this due diligence to protect their fiduciary interests in the property. Buyers should also consider this level of knowledge regarding their new purchase as very important as it will reduce their likelyhood of buying an environmental problem. Once you've made all the arrangements and the deal is done, the real work begins of running your eBay business in style.

Seeking out premium cables

Many of us enjoy the use of our electronic devices including iPods, flat panel monitors, plasma televisions, HiFi audio systems, computer networks, and all the rest. Though, if you're anything like me, you're always shocked at the retail prices of the cables to connect these devices. I can't understand how these manufacturers can get away with the hge profits they make on cables and accessories. As a savvy consumer, there is another way. Buy from a wholesale manufacturer and save big money. Companies including Diablo Cable have the same quality or better cables at prices way below retail. You'll get better performance, audio and video quality, and enjoyment from your electronics when you buy from a wholesaler. don't be fooled by the fear, uncertainty and doubt that original manufacturers try to push. Educated buyer know how to save money by buying better products at manufacturer direct prices.

Buying used can make a difference to the bottom line

When the economy slows a bit as it is now, many organizations begin to look for innovative ways to trim expenses. The last thing any company wishes to do is cut quality or service, which is what can happen very easily if one is not careful in their expense trimming exercise. So the question becomes, how can I make some subtle changes that can have a big impact on the bottom line. One great way is to consider the purchase of used networking hardware, namely used Cisco. Now you might think this is some willy nilly solutions, though you'd be wrong. Many real blue chip companies already make it their policy to source used first if it's available. What do these companies know that you don't? They know that they can cut new hardware expenses by half or more and they know that something used is already known to work great and will likely continue to do so. Consider this the next time your business needs to make some important financial decisions.
