Wow! We were searching for Bob the Builder accessories to go with our toddler's Halloween costume. The Target and two Fred Meyer stores we hit were out of the Talking Toolbelt, so as a last resort, we decided to head to downtown Bellevue to the Toys R Us. We got there just before the 10am opening, and there was a line snaking out the door, and in to the parking lot, in the pouring rain! We wondered what was going on, but remembered that the Big Toy Book had just come out in this morning's paper.
As we approached the door, we saw the small signs that directed people to the start of the line for "The PlayStation, TMX Elmo, etc." That explained it! By the time we got through the door, several people were already in line to pay for their TMX Elmos (maximum two per person). By the time we wandered past the place where the Elmos should have been, just a blank space existed. Then a harried-looking employee wheeled past us with a stack of Elmos on a cart, looking paranoid, and rightly so. I think I heard the sound of him being ambushed a few seconds later. I chuckled and asked my husband, "Do you think this would be a good time for me to shout out that we have 3 of them at home that we will be offering up for sale later on?"
"No! I do not!" he hissed at me. Obviously not amused. And so the Elmo mania continues...
