Most Recent Posts To Sell or Not to Sell?Posted Feb-28-08 20:33:57 PST So I am trying to find a new home for my Canon IS 70-300 lens because I want to upgrade to another lens. I submitted a quote to a place that sells them used - and obviously they have to make some money - but they completely lowballed me. I need to get much more or it won't be worth selling to upgrade to something new. All of my eBay auctions have gone toward buying this new lens so it's really riding on this lens selling. I don't have the original box or paperwork since it's a couple years old but it's in perfect condition - lenses don't really get "outdated"; you can still use them of course. So I'm kind of nervous to sell something so huge on eBay. I don't want to give it away. I also don't want it to not sell. Going through the used place is less risky but - I don't get as much $$ for it. I bought it for aorund $600 so I won't take less than $400 for it, it's not worth my while when brand new they retail at $575. So... do I put up an auction with a reserve? Do I do buy it now or best offer? I don't know what my best bet is because this is way more important than any other auctions I've posted... so it's making me over-analyze :-) Oh, well, we'll see...!!! Maybe it was just good luck?Posted Feb-20-08 18:58:49 PST I've been checking my e-mail all day. Maybe my surge of early eBay sales was just good luck - because now nothing seems to be selling. What a slow rate it's going at, at least. Not many page hits, not many watchers or inquiries. I'm starting to worry. With how high eBay rates are, I hope I don't end up losing a lot of money :( Time for American Idol soon!!! Ta ta for now! New Auctions, New ChallengesPosted Feb-19-08 22:19:35 PST I will say - as time goes on I find more and more things I want to sell on eBay! I think I'm seeing the everyday stuff that's laying around as.. oh.. someone might buy that, someone might buy that! I think my worry now just lies in - what if this stuff doesn't sell. I'm fine with paying eBay to list things that do sell. But if I don't sell - I hate being OUT that money. It wasn't worth my time and effort! I'm also sad to now realize that when they let you relist it doesn't credit your entire list costs. What a bummer. That $10 item could end up bringing you in $5 in the end if you relist a couple times. That is kind of hard! But - I think what I've gained will more that outweigh those little issues. At least I hope so! I wonder what to do with things that don't sell. Do I relist, wait on it, or give up? What do you all do? Where do you get your cute graphics from?Posted Feb-19-08 00:17:36 PST I'm up late and want to know. I want a cute animated header graphic, with like maybe a cartoon that looks like me or something. Where do you guys get them? I don't want to go to work tomorrow!!!Posted Feb-18-08 17:41:43 PST Like many of you, I was off from work today. I didn't take a 3 day weekend so I'm still getting holiday pay - but I really wish I was off from work tomorrow! Oh well, it will be good for me to get back. But I don't want to! :) I'm going to pack up my auctions that sold today and take them to the Post Office after work. In other news - I shipped my 2 auctions from the automated kiosk today, and I survived! Let's hope the packages do, too!! Well, happy rest of President's Day to you all! Spend your Holiday Pay wisely!! ;) |
