To Sell or Not to Sell?Posted Feb-28-08 20:33:57 PST So I am trying to find a new home for my Canon IS 70-300 lens because I want to upgrade to another lens. I submitted a quote to a place that sells them used - and obviously they have to make some money - but they completely lowballed me. I need to get much more or it won't be worth selling to upgrade to something new. All of my eBay auctions have gone toward buying this new lens so it's really riding on this lens selling. I don't have the original box or paperwork since it's a couple years old but it's in perfect condition - lenses don't really get "outdated"; you can still use them of course. So I'm kind of nervous to sell something so huge on eBay. I don't want to give it away. I also don't want it to not sell. Going through the used place is less risky but - I don't get as much $$ for it. I bought it for aorund $600 so I won't take less than $400 for it, it's not worth my while when brand new they retail at $575. So... do I put up an auction with a reserve? Do I do buy it now or best offer? I don't know what my best bet is because this is way more important than any other auctions I've posted... so it's making me over-analyze :-) Oh, well, we'll see...!!!
