The Fiber Cocktail

The Fiber Cocktail
Dr. Chet Zelasko | January 31, 2008

Fiber is important to a well-functioning digestive system. It prevents constipation, reduces the risk of diverticulitis, and may even help lower your cholesterol. The problem is getting enough fiber from the foods you eat. While we all need to eat more fruits and vegetables, it helps to give yourself a little insurance. I’ve come up with a fiber cocktail that I drink once or twice a day. It’s very simple:
1 cup cold water
1 tablespoon soluble fiber such as guar gum or pectin
1 tablespoon insoluble fiber such as psyllium fiber

Add the fibers to the water and stir with a spoon until mixed. Guar gum fiber dissolves completely in water if you stir long enough. (I don’t like waiting that long.) I also prefer an orange-flavored psyllium fiber; if yours is unflavored, add a tiny bit of a sugar-free powdered beverage to make it whatever flavor you like. If you take a probiotic, you can add that to the cocktail. If you don’t use a powder form, remember to open the capsule and pour the probiotic into the water. Then drink it up--your colon will love you for it.

1. Taking Internet strategies to the "real world"
=====================================
One of the quickest ways to start making a great side income
with all the marketing and eBay skills you've acquired is to
simply start letting the world know that you are available
to help them.

Very few of the local businesses in your area know more than
a few passing false cliches about Internet marketing. My guess
is that 90% of all small businesses think that success on the
Internet means paying someone thousands of dollars for a
pretty website and then paying them thousands more to
"hopefully" get ranked in the search engines.

They likely think that all email marketing is risky spam.
Introduce them to aweber.com.

They likely think Ebay is just a giant yard sale.
Introduce them to MySilentTeam.com and the amazing lead
generation potential of eBay.

They think online video is for teenagers with skateboards.
Introduce them to the business side of youtube.com.

They've never heard of Pay Per Click advertising and if they
have they've never realized it can be set up and used for
one geographic region (you do realize that Google adwords
does that right?)

Just showing businesses the "free line" video I did awhile
back and having a short conversation about the ideas you
have for them could lead to several new clients in your area
and a nice steady income stream for BOTH OF YOU and they'll
love you for it. Here's the popular "free line" video again
if you missed it:  http://youtube.com/watch?v=Df9RRvGAzOI

I've been chatting online lately with successful marketers
that don't even use business cards and they are walking out
of small businesses in their area with nice checks for
performing (and outsourcing) basic internet marketing
services. I'll be getting you more specifics on this business
model soon. Members of MySilentTeam.com look for some great
ideas on the site in the  next few weeks.

Little do your local businesses know that a marketing genius
lives right up the road...go introduce yourself.

=====================================
2. Dealing with mean buyers on eBay
=====================================
I have two tips for dealing with 'mean' (and/or 'stupid')
buyers on eBay.

First I'll talk about the "non-paying winning bidder" and
next I've got a guest article from Jim Orr that deals with
"negative feedback threats" and other feedback issues.

The non-paying winner:

The most creative (and meanest) way I've ever seen to deal
with a non-paying winning bidder was something I heard
presented by well known eBay author (and creative
MySilentTeam.com contributor) Terry Gibbs. I've never used
this idea, but it's sneaky enough to work!

Terry suggests using a second Ebay account to send the
winning bidder an email that they THINK is from a different
eBay user. This email offers the winning bidder a nice profit
on the item they just won. This is a great incentive to get
the evil non-payer to pay up and get the item on the way to
them ASAP. Although I've never used this tactic it's a good
last resort idea. Keep in mind that you are soliciting an
unofficial transaction and this is clearly against eBay
policy, but...they were trying to rip you off so if you
don't mind scamming a scammer this is one idea that avoids
the traditional red tape of reporting them, seeking a refund,
fighting off negative feedback etc.

Next let's talk about the "threat" of negative feedback.
The second half of this article was primarily compiled from
an article by MySilentTeam.com contributer and eBay Certified
Educational Specialist Jim Orr.

The feedback threat:

If it hasn't happened yet it will...

A mean unhappy eBay customer (usually a newbie) threatens to
leave us negative feedback unless we bend over backwards and
give them the world.

What are you supposed to do?

As sellers we value good feedback.

Our eBay feedback score compares in many ways to our
Credit Score.

We all know that just one negative feedback will hurt us
far more than several positives will help us.

What many people don't realize is just as you can get your
credit score repaired you can get your eBay feedback score
repaired also - and it's worth doing!

Many experienced and very successful eBayers regard getting
the occasional negative feedback, regardless of how unfair
and unjustified it is, as just part of doing business on eBay
but it doesn't have to be that way.

What you as a seller must realize is that the eBay protocols
were written and designed to look after the best interest of
eBay and the eBay Community as a whole, not necessarily you as
an individual seller. There are times when these interests come
into direct conflict and you need to learn when to go with the
flow and when to break away on your own.

For example, the "eBay Basics of Buying Student Guide" used
by eBay University addresses the subject of feedback this way;

"...the Seller usually leaves feedback first and the Buyer
usually leaves feedback after they receive the item..."

It then goes on to say this to the seller:

"...If there is a dispute between you and the buyer, you should
try to work it out before posting feedback. Remember feedback
is permanent."

This is a very typical example of eBay doublespeak. Cover all
sides against the middle so no matter what happens it is not
their fault.

How am I as a seller supposed to know if the buyer is happy
or not until he lets me know by leaving me feedback first?

TIP: As a seller always wait to leave feedback until you
GET feedback!

A few years ago before I figured this all out I left negative
feedback to a non-payer (just as eBay suggests you to do).
In turn I received negative feedback right back. You know what
their negative comment was to me? "Item not as described".
Now how would they know that if they never paid and I never
shipped it to them?

Was this unfair feedback? I think so. When I called eBay did
they agree with me that it was unfair? Yes, they were in total
agreement that it was unfair. Were they going to do anything
about it? Not a thing. It was not in their best interest to
do so.  So why would it be in my best interest to leave feedback
in the first place? Well so the rest of the "Community" will
know about this buyer.

This is a prime example of how very often eBay's best interest,
and the best interest of the eBay Community come into direct
conflict with your best interest as an individual seller.

In my just released eBook "How to get Back to and Keep 100%
Positive Feedback" I give more examples of how eBay's
"Best Practices" can lead you unexpectedly toward disaster.
I'll show you creative ways to protect your feedback and the
best strategies on getting negative feedback removed quickly
and quietly.

A recent email question...

QUESTION: Hello Jim my name is Alex. I have been doing a
search to see if there is a market for selling ebooks having
to do with my niche.  I would like to know would it be wise
for me to sell an ebook where there is not much of a market
in hopes that I could create one?

JIM's ANSWER: The short answer is NO. It's hard to create a
market where there isn't already one online. This DOESN'T mean
you should only sell items that are already being sold by others
- not all markets are discovered yet! It DOES mean that you
should TEST FIRST though. When testing ebook ideas one strategy
create only the sales page (and possibly a basic product cover).
By doing this you can use eBay to test a product that isn't even
created yet. There are more ideas along these lines in my best
seller sold only at:

Still wondering if MySilentTeam.com is for you? How many
"experts" do you know that allow ALL CURRENT AND PAST
CUSTOMERS to gather together online and talk to each
other openly? That's what the MySilentTeam.com discussion
forums are all about. It's one of the favorite destinations
on the site for most of our 1,100+ members.

Check out this email we received unsolicited from one of the
oldest members of MySilentTeam.com just yesterday expressing
how he feels about our forums. We've edited for brevity, but
you'll get the point...
------
Jim,

Over the years dealing on the internet I've seen a lot of bad
people taking money and posting pictures of exotic cars and
mansions. Most were scams and very few were honest sites.

I've bought thousands of dollars in products and didn't get
much out of most of them, but I am very excited to be on the
MySilentTeam.com membership site.

The discussion forums on MySilentTeam.com are open and positive.

You don't edit or erase things out to make yourself look good.
%100 honesty and you have the trust of thousands of people...

God bless your family 1000 times and keep up the good work.
Thank you very much.

M. MacDonald

We Will Help Promote Your Ebay Auctions

We Will Help Promote Your Ebay Auctions

One of the downsides to eBay is that there are so many auctions taking place, listings can often be overlooked. For our Full Subscription members, we have added the ability to promote your eBay auctions directly on Police Auctions. Just click on the Add Your Auction link, fill in the form, and your listing will go up for review, typically listed within 24 hours, sometimes longer on the weekends. So this won’t work if you do a listing that is under 3 days, but most listings on eBay are 3 days or longer.

Once your listing is approved, it will appear on the Police Auctions website, where many of our members regularly look for bargains and items to bid on. The added exposure is not as good as having your own television commercial and we don’t want to set a false expectation about the traffic you will receive, but something is better than nothing. And since we don’t charge any additional fees for these listings, you can list as many auctions as you like as long as they adhere to our terms of use. This feature alone is worth more than the annual subscription fee to Police Auctions. Of course the best way to find that out is to try it. Again we’ll mention there is no additional fee to try this feature so if you are already selling on eBay, why not give it a whirl and see if your auction doesn’t get more bids.
