The first 2 days I was there, it was a bit disorganized since they weren't used to having a parent helper, but today was fantastic. Since I'm assisting all the 2nd grade teachers, they each had notes for me marked with exactly what they wanted done and their room numbers. They even gave me my own desk for the year! I thought that was nice of them. :-) I get to see my sons and "A" really loves having me there. He always gets so excited and gives me hugs every time I see him. I think it's fantastic how happy the other children are when I arrive too. :-) I wish I could go every day! I Need AdvicePosted Sep-27-08 12:08:23 PDT Bright Blessings! Let me start by explaining a few things that a lot of you probably do not know. Larry had a son (I'll call him T) before we got together. He's 2 years older than the son I had before we got together (I'll call him A), but they are only 1 school year apart. T is now in 3rd grade and A is in 2nd. We have 2 other children together, one boy and one girl. A's father is Caucasian and so is Larry. T's mother is Caucasian and I am Korean. Last school year, T and several of his friends were bullying A at school in the cafeteria. This went on for 4 months before I found out because A did not want to get them in trouble. The bullying included racial slurs and name calling. We handled it last school year and thought everything was fine. One of the kids that was involved even went on to become friends with A. Well, A told me the other day that it is happening again, but was sure to let me know that T was not involved this time and that they are not the same children from last year. It's mainly things like calling him "China boy" or telling him to go back where he came from. He doesn't know these children, doesn't know their names, what grades they're in, etc. T says he hadn't seen or heard anything, so he can't help identify the children involved. I've talked to his teacher so she can make the cafeteria staff aware this is going on, but what else can I do? Any ideas? A is a very sweet, sensitive child, with an amazing capacity for sympathy and empathy. He's optimistic, outgoing, intelligent and athletic. He likes everyone and can't understand why he's getting picked on. He takes it in stride, but his simple statement that it hurts his feelings is telling since he rarely ever lets anything bother him. How do I explain this to him and insure that this does not hurt his self-esteem? Spiceymama makes great banners and logos!Posted Sep-26-08 14:39:07 PDT Here's one she made for me! :-)

Free Quick*Sell Gallery from ISDN*tek Anyone Here Know Anything About Adult Roller Skates?Posted Sep-24-08 07:44:20 PDT Bright Blessings! My kids are finally old enough that we can all go to the park and have fun without me having to push one or two of them around on their tricycles. So, I figure now's a good time for me to get a pair of roller skates so I can have some fun, get some excercise and chase after them, all at the same time. :-) My older two are also starting to enjoy going to the roller rink, so I'd like my own pair so I can stop renting from the rink. Does anyone here know anything about roller skates for women? I want to get a pair of quads and a pair of inline skates, but I don't really trust salespeople to give me the best advice. I'd prefer them to be speed skates and good for use indoors and outdoors. Not just one or the other since I don't want to end up getting 3-4 pairs! Any suggestions?
