Most Recent Posts Honeywell Extends Its Offering With New Wireless CO Detector For Security InstallationsPosted Sep-06-08 16:05:03 PDT Customers Gain Reliability in System-Monitored Detection, Dealers Get Excellent Upgrade OpportunityMELVILLE, NY, August 10, 2008 – Honeywell (NYSE: HON) today announced the release of the 5800CO Wireless Carbon Monoxide Detector. The newest member of Honeywell’s popular 5800 Series family of wireless devices gives dealers the ability to help protect their customers against the deadly threat of carbon monoxide with a system-monitored detector. The detector can be easily added to each installation—increasing sales and the potential for greater recurring RMR. The 5800CO provides several benefits not found in non-monitored detectors. It connects directly to the end-user’s security system and can be monitored 24 hours a day, seven days a week—providing an added level of protection and peace of mind. Electrochemical sensing technology measures carbon monoxide levels over time—taking readings from low levels that may be hazardous over long periods to concentrations that present an immediate danger. The 5800CO is designed to sound a warning alarm well before the carbon monoxide reaches fatal levels—giving the occupants time to safely evacuate the premises. Should concentrations hit dangerous levels, the end-user will be notified by the detector, control panel and monitoring station. A built-in piezoelectric sounder will also alert the end-user to conditions such as low-battery, detector trouble and end-of-life. Since there are no unsightly holes to drill or wires to run, the wireless design preserves the appearance of the home or building while protecting its occupants. It is an ideal carbon monoxide detector for difficult-to-wire locations, applications where aesthetics are critical or where hazardous materials exist. The 5800CO is listed to UL standard 2075, with CO sensitivity evaluated to UL 2034. For more information, please call us at 1-866-587-0260. NEW PRODUCT RELEASE: Honeywell 7845i-GSM Internet and Digital Cellular Communicator for Security SystemsPosted Aug-20-07 08:35:58 PDT Press Release: Honeywell Unveils GSM Product Utilizing Internet as Primary Form of Alarm Transmission
Through the Internet or radio, the 7845i-GSM offers full data reporting and uploading/downloading with most Honeywell control panels.
08.13.2007 — MELVILLE, N.Y., Aug. 13, 2007—Honeywell (NYSE:HON) today announced the release of the 7845i-GSM, a unique new product combining Honeywell’s popular GSM alarm radio with Internet service. The 7845i-GSM utilizes the Internet as the primary source of transmission and delivery of alarm signals—providing a fast, safe and affordable way to communicate.
Triple-path technology provides three paths of communication using the Internet, General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) and Short Message Service (SMS). Should the Internet become unavailable, the unit automatically communicates using the GSM network. This end-to-end communication platform enables dealers to expand services and increase the value of their accounts. Honeywell’s GSM alarm communications radios are designed to meet the ever-changing needs of the future, expand the dealer’s customer base and maintain and increase recurring monthly revenue (RMR). Through the Internet or radio, the 7845i-GSM offers full data reporting and uploading/downloading with most Honeywell control panels. Plus, with zone inputs, it is compatible with other manufacturers’ control panels. All 7845i-GSM radios are configured for Honeywell’s new Total Connect remote services. Total Connect lets end-users remotely control their alarm systems via Honeywell’s virtual keypad and stay connected to their homes or businesses remotely via the Internet, PDAs, cell phones, cameras and more. Additionally, this end-to-end solution in combination with the AlarmNet backbone – the industry’s premier wireless alarm communication network – will help dealers seamlessly transition customers to the latest digital technology. Current radios that use analog Advanced Mobile Phone Services (AMPS) networks are already being phased out due to the Federal Communication Commissions’ (FCC) decision that permits cellular carriers to discontinue support to AMPS networks, known commonly as the “Sunset Clause.” Honeywell International is a $34 billion diversified technology and manufacturing leader, serving customers worldwide with aerospace products and services; control technologies for buildings, homes and industry; automotive products; turbochargers; and specialty materials. Analog Cellular Alarm Monitoring (Includes Ademco & Honeywell "C" Radios)Posted Feb-19-07 10:30:34 PST We are entering a new era of technology, where traditional communication methods are being replaced by more efficient, economical and useful methods that offer users numerous benefits. In the alarm industry, security system manufacturers have traditionally relied upon analog wireless networks to deliver alarm signals from the home to the appropriate central station. This network was used because it was the most reliable and economical signal delivery method available.
Since the advent of the digital wireless network, however, it has become the primary method of signal transmission by cellular carriers. In response, the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ruled that wireless carriers will no longer be required to support the analog wireless network after February 18, 2008. Working together with cellular providers, Honeywell has developed ground-breaking technology that fulfills the upcoming need for digital wireless signal transmission.
To ensure that your alarm system continues to function optimally and without interruption, you will need to upgrade your current AMPS analog radio with a new Honeywell GSM digital radio communicator in the near future.
The new family of Honeywell digital communications products is a comprehensive solution that helps protect you, your family and your assets. These products offer numerous benefits and capabilities for you to take advantage of, and will bring you continued peace of mind.
