Anyone know how to pick the right wig?

The year is 2006. And the old way of what color and shape goes with a particular facial shape are not the relevant.

Quality and length of hair on your head doesn't matter when it comes to regular wigs. Which are good to wear when you want to give your hair a rest.

The one minute wigs, partials and weaves should CLOSELY match the styled texture of your hair.

When picking any style, you should try it on before buying it(FOR SAFETY USE A STOCKING CAP ON YOUR HAIR).

You should primp and view yourself from many angles.
If someone is rushing you tell them to give you a minute. If they can't do that give them their wig and go somewhere else. When you rush into buying a hairpiece oftentimes you end up not liking it.

And because this is 2006 Hairpieces come is different qualities....personally I go with human hair, sometimes yaky but there is now a fiber than can take the heat of a non-professional curling/flat iron. I would only buy a fiber other than those in an emergency situation only. The cost of those fibers far outweigh their costs.

Hair is an accessory and that means you should have more than one. I think the minimum is two(hot & cold seasons). Your hair is also an extenion of you so you pick them according to your mood or personality. So if you try on a hairpiece/wig and you're not feeling it...don't get it. This if you feel sassy go for a cut that's short,crisp,& in style. You feel elegant: long,flowing,& stylish. Or you may need a smart biz/professional look then go somewhere in between elegant & sassy.

As far as the color goes the sky is the limit. Just choose it according to the environment or ocassion you will be in. In other words don't let your hair down in the wrong place at the inappropriate time.

Just make sure the style is somewhat current and that you like it.
