It’s amusing to me that the more famous someone is, the more the public yearns to hear about their personal lives. You can’t go on the internet, turn on TV, or walk by a rack of magazines without seeing that the top story of late revolves around Angelina, Brad, and their soon-to-be-born twins. Yesterday’s rumor was she had already given birth to the girls in France. Today it’s said she’s at the hospital “preparing” for the birth. I’ve given birth five times and nobody was ever that interested. The most I’d hear from friends and family was, “Oh, again?” And the only rumors floating around were in regards to bets being placed on how soon I’d be pregnant again. The wait was never long. But, I’m not Angelina, and I’ve certainly never been married to someone of Brad’s caliber. In light of their upcoming new arrivals I thought I’d do a brief tarot reading using my favorite deck, Morgan Greer, for them and see what comes up. This is all in fun folks. Now let’s see what we can find out!

Angelina received Judgment. This is a major arcana card and I completely expected something like this to come up for her. She’s a very powerful woman and definitely wears the pants in the family. I also feel she’s an older soul than Brad. She looks at things long and hard before making a decision, and can become quite passionate about various causes--as we’ve seen in the past. If she had her way, she’d like to be the one making the rules in this world since she believes her way is the only way. That’s not to say she’s rigid, just very intense. Her judgment on becoming a mother again may have been due to the fact that she wanted to experience motherhood from conception to birth once again before her biological clock runs out. Almost as if she had to prove something to herself--and the media? She’s also in the midst of making a decision right now, and this could be who to sell rights for first photos of the twins to. Right now it seems to be a race between OK! and People magazine.

Brad received the Page of Pentacles. In the card the young man is looking in back of him to the past. This may show that Brad sometimes yearns for simpler times before their brood of children arrived, and anxiety over his waning youth. (Do I detect a midlife crisis? Probably. Few of us are immune.) He may tend to spend money frivolously at times, but he certainly has enough for this lifetime, plus a couple future lives as well. This is a minor arcana card and shows that he’s not as strong in character as his wife. As if we didn’t already know this? Since the card describes someone who is quite young, this can point to boyish and childlike qualities in Brad that Angelina found endearing in the beginning of their relationship.

Twin One received The Hermit. This is a major arcana card showing that she’ll have a strong personality, though probably in contrast to her mother. The Hermit would be more of a people pleaser, shy, deep thinking, will grow incredibly wise for her years, and may be a natural born leader when she finally feels comfortable in her own skin. She may not say much at times--that is, when she’s old enough to speak!--but can size people up and see right through them. The fact that she received a major arcana card tells me she’s also an older soul. It does seem the spotlight will be more on her since she’ll have a certain allure to her.

Twin Two received the Two of Swords. I worried a bit when this card came up, since it could point to eye problems, or perhaps a need for phototherapy due to jaundice since the woman in the card is wearing a blindfold. As she gets older she may have trouble making decisions and forever feel stuck in the middle of mom and dad, wondering which one to listen to. It will be difficult for her to make her own decisions even as she gets older and may doubt the decisions she does make, wondering if she should have chosen something else. She could have the tendency to live in the shadow of her older siblings. Although she’ll only be moments younger compared to her twin, she’ll forever be treated as “the baby.” This will probably cause her to be quiet and just stay in the background, or acting out in order to stake her place in the family. Last born children tend to be super-achievers or under-achievers. The screw-up or the model child. With her mother by her side, I have faith she’ll ultimately do well in life.
