Archive - July 2007 New International Shipping Policy Blocks Foreign BuyersPosted Jul-19-07 11:38:05 PDT The United States Postal Service has discontinued Airmail Parcel Post as an international delivery option. This was a more economical choice of delivery than USPS Express Mail. Items that weigh less than 4 pounds can often be shipped via First Class or Priority mail. However, as many of our items weigh more than 4 pounds Express Mail is the only option for delivery. Express Mail can be quite expensive, especially with heavier items. Further, customs fees become an additional expense many international buyers are unaware of, and unwilling to pay for. In several cases, buyers allowed their items to go unclaimed and be returned instead of paying these customs and brokerage fees. Many of our foreign customers have left us negative feedback regarding their complaints toward the higher shipping costs. Other eBay members have experienced this same problem. Currently, the only option to save our feedback is to block foreign bidders from buying our items. We are saddened to have to limit our sales to the USA and Canada, however given the importance of feedback on eBay we can not afford to allow this trend to continue. We will not make exceptions to this policy, and will cancel any bids not automatically blocked. If you have any questions regarding this policy please feel free to contact us.
