We've been on the building side, guess we're soon to be on the downhill slide. It always seems strange just as summer starts the days get shorter. I like the longer days. Seems almost a let down for them to slip away. Anyone else find have similar thoughts?

I worked outside almost all day, mowing, digging, planting & watering. Even though I use strong sunscreen, reapply, wear a brim & sunglasses. I can feel the tightness of too much sun. Most people get tans... I burn, always have.
Just once it would be nice NOT to look ridiculously white in a swimsuit! LOL

Reached down to pick up & reset a wooden stake marker. When I finished pushing it into the ground, yikes! Fire ants!! My hand was covered. They were worse than I've ever encountered them before.
I'm very sensitive to their bites and swell badly. Taking a couple of minutes to nurse my wounds now... ;)

I've noticed medical personnel now using bandanas to keep their hair in line, instead of the traditional paper hats. They are much more personalized & appealling. They don't look so cold and sterile.

The days storms are getting an early start... the thunder is booming. Wish my doggers didn't feel the need to bark at it. I'm also so paranoid about the computer getting hit. I've lost 2 already, even with surge protectors.

The electric keeps going off. Irritating. I've spent most of the day reloading. Hope things are straighened out soon.

And that's a comforting thing... the grass no longer cruches underfoot & the fire danger is down.
On the other side, it means mowing, mowing and more mowing. Guess I could get some goats. They may be cheaper than buying gas!

I just got back from the vet's office. I took the boys in for their annual exam. It gets more expensive every time. At this rate their checkups, flea prevention, heartworm etc. is almost more than my horses. Grrrrrrrr!
