"Can Bike Fest Indure The Changes"

Hello all,

I am trying to get some feedback on whether "Bike Fest" can withstand all the "new" regulations opted in for the city limits.  In recent years, Daytona beach has imposed restictions for Bikers in the name of safety, do you think these are fair or not?  I live in Leesburg, FL and we also have a thriving "Bike Fest", but our rights are not violated.  Granted, it's no where near the size of Daytona, but the principle is the same.  I would like to find out from readers if you think there is a change coming, or maybe even a move, to bouycot Daytona in the coming years?  Our state is full of beaches that would be glad accept massive amounts income generated by this event.  Please feel free to reply to this post and let me know your opinions.  Thanks, hope we can chat soon!

I probally am not going to win friends with this but... I think they are needed. I live in South Florida and used to do bike week every year. I haven't been in 7 years. I still occaisionally make it to Sturgis and to Key West. But I started going to Daytona in 1977 and it was a different environment and different element of people. I think now the new restrictions are neccesary because some of the younger bikers have made it that way because they don't understand respectful behavior. I'm 47 and female so maybe I am just too old to tolerate some of the antics now
