When I worked at the grocery store it was collared shirts (plain white, red or blue) and khaki or blue pants. When I worked at the factory we could pretty much wear anything but we had to wear scrub hat and protective gown (it was a medical factory).
Not so long time ago my husband wanted to employ. He was said that they prefered a man in a sweater instead of classic suite :)
But if my husband put on jeans and sweater, policemen think his criminal and always stop him for checking :)))
Yes...All of the companies I work for or worked for had some sort of dress code. I am a consultant so I needed to dress accordingly for each assignment I was on. However, the good part right is, most of the corporate and privately owned businesses here in Jersey are casual. Each company has a policy, but it's no longer a stuffy-corporate-american-workplace-for the most part. Tailored jeans on Fridays is great:) Hope this sheds some light on your dilema...
