I sell a lot of jewelry and small items that I don't always have a box for. It gets pretty costly buying the little cardboard jewelry boxes at the craft store. For some reason, I've always saved my old prescription bottles, knowing I'd put them to good use someday. Well I finally thought of it. To pack a small item, I just wrap it in a little piece of bubble wrap or tissue paper, and put it in the pill bottle. I clean the bottle and remove the label before doing this of course. I also pre-printed some little labels that say "This Bottle Contains No Medication" to affix to it as well, just in case anyone feels funny about it. I also affix a little label listing what the bottle does contain. Some bottles are very difficult to get the complete label off of, so with those, I wrap a blank shipping label around to make it look better. Then I can either write on it, or just stick my little labels over it. I like to ship using the bubble envelope mailers, so this is a good way to make sure my item is better protected, and I feel good about recycling something. I also save those thin cardboard sheets that come in some of the things I buy, and cut them up to make my own little boxes for my items too. Another way to recycle!
