Hi and welcome to Endurance Winter a new style of sports shop for those of you bored with the gym, riding your bikes or just looking for a new challenge.

For 10 years I had competed in Endurance spors, from swimming, running, cycling, kayaking and obviously triathlon, I finally became tired of these and spent a few years doing very little and desperately tried to get into cross country skiing. Issue one being a lack of snow in the UK and secondly I didn't have enough money to go skiing. So my quest began to find alternatives. Yes you can buy roller skis, but by the time you have purchased the boots and bindings and the the skis themselves you have parted with over £350 again this was not an option.

Eventually after many hours of stumbling around the internet I came across Powerslide. Now these have their heads screwed on. Firstly the price under £200 and when secondly when they claim that there blades go off road they really do.

Most roller ski companies produce an off road version but these are nothing like the quality of the Powerslide product. For a start they come with a 6 1/4" inflatable wheels which smooth out all fo the bumps both on and off road. Secondly with all of the experience of Powerslides Roller Blading division they have created the ultimate boot using a standard platform and the option of a loose heal (to replicate the bindings on a cross country ski - freestyle only).

Having now bought my own pair I am working with my partner to spread the word and to which we will hopefully create an online community and host a series of races to be held around the country in forests and great parks in the UK.
