SCAMMERS!

I think ebay need to do a better job filtering and investigating these scammers that are mostly african origin and non english speaking fake check dealers. I usually post on all my sell ads clearly that I am very aware of the fake check nigerian scam but regrdless of what I aknowledge on the ad they still keep trying. Here is a perfect example of a scam. It's a email that I received from one of the scammer:

Hello,
I am interested in immediate purchase of your item on E bay , i want to buy this item for my Son Schooling Abroad and i want it to be shipped directly to him as well i will be paying you through Pay pal Money transfer, where by you will be given the payment confirmation by Pay pal also I'll pay you 450.00usd if you could accept online pay pal transfer. Also to let me know if i will pay for the shipment cost as well.Hope to hear from you as soon as possible. i want you to mail me back at bruce_smith47@yahoomail.com. am looking forward to hear from you

Now my problem is.. I dont know who is really bidding on my items. I already have 3 items that I am waiting payments on and 2 that I already escalated to a non paying dispute. Are they scammers? most likely.. maybe they will email me later and say that they are buying for someone in nigeria or somewhere in the world and that they want to send me a cashier check for triple the amount and pay ridiculous high amount of shipping fee, but at the end of the day ebay has already taken out all of their fees.. and it just become a waste of time.

I have not seen one of these yet. You probably should explain it to me, because it looks like something I could fall for. What is the scam? How does it work? If you don't ship anything until paypal sends cleared payment? ...I don't get it.

They will bid on your item and win regardless of how much it is, then they will make up a story most likely and tell you that they are having problems with the paypal account so they will ask you if they could just send you a check for maybe double the amount for the trouble they are putting you through. If you accept the check which most likely will be a cashier check that look legit, and once you deposit it will come back far later maybe after you already sent out the item as a fake check. You owe your bank the money and you are out of the item! Just google "nigerian check scam" and you will see.

Yup. I do some postings on craigslist too and there's ton of them there and most of them have gmail and hotmail accounts. I guess that one tried to be unique lol

Good point about the yahoo mail...
Well buddy you might want to check this website (dont worry is not a SCAM) but is a good place to list your eBay items/store (ebay powered site), take a look at it and then decide.
