Most Recent Posts When negative feedbacks are earned: In my POVPosted Jun-07-08 03:57:01 PDT So, let me start off by saying I don't like leaving a seller negative feedback. I generally do so as the final option. I've left 2 negative feedbacks this year. 1 for a seller who did not give me true proof of postage, and basically told me to schluff off (and I took this up and filed a complaint with paypal and was given a refund. But because the seller was not helpful nor forthcoming with any help I did feel justified in doing so). the other kind of person I will leave negative feedback for are the ones who try to take the mick when it comes to postage. This is aimed at my most recent purchase, from one seller so called nicknicey (who is not very nice!) I don't mind when a seller has a standard shipping rate--this usually reflects the fact that they pack it in sturdy or purchased shipping materials. I understand the outlay aspect. I don't mind paying for bubble wrap, peanuts, boxes, tyvek bags & the like. What I DO mind paying for are people who can't be bothered to 1) wrap the item well or in any sort of protective materials, nor make their shipping price reflect accurately what they are spending on it. Example-- I bought a very lightweight shirt from said buyer. I paid the advertised £3.50 postage-(the so called seller's standard rate) happily. I expected that it would have been carefully packed. No. it was crammed into a bit of brown paper, some tape was smacked on it and then to add insult to injury, the actual postage £1.24! I MIND this because the package had a hole poked in it (the shirt was fine, but still--don't charge me for shipping and then ship it like that!) So you tell me-- how is it that a piece of brown paper (not enough to keep the post from jabbing a hole in it during transit) is equal to the difference between £3.50 and £1.24 = £2.26? You can try to dress it up however you want, but it's still wrong! (and yea, I wouldn't be complaining if the packing used was equal to the difference) the Seller, when contacted essentially said they couldn't be bothered to sort out all the prices for everything they sell and that's why they have a standard rate. Personally I think thats utter BS. If you can't be bothered to find out how much something costs to ship (hello, a 2.00£ scale and a trip to www.royalmail.com will tell you everything you need!) then you really shouldn't be selling on ebay. I think ebay needs to worry less about retaliatory feedback (such as said buyer left me after I emailed) and concentrate more on abuses of charges & fees. Luckily for me, the majority of sellers I have dealt with have been wonderful and have made my ebay experience a very enjoyable one!!!! |
