Hello to my customers, old and new! Its amazing how a company like Ebay is more concerned for the people who buy on Ebay, rather than the people who sell! Its the people who sell that generate the capital for Ebay, and without the Sellers, there are no buyers!! I think that both parties should be equally protected but for some reason, unbeknown to me, they now favour the Buyer only.
The problem arises with feedback, which can only be left POSITIVE by the Seller. The only time I have had to leave NEGATIVE feedback, is when a member does not pay for his/her goods. There are certain individuals who take great pleasure in setting up "bogus" accounts, just to bid on every item that a particular person has listed, just to cause disruption and then they dont pay for the goods. their idea of course is to keep the goods from being on Ebay, so they can either sell their own similar goods, or purely as some kind of perverse grudge.
What does Ebay do when you report this???? Do they take imediate action, and throw the offenders off Ebay and IP ban them?? Of course NOT! ...... they advise the seller to go through the motions through the various options available, and basically, the only thing you can do is claim back the listing fees......... NOT VERY SATISFACTORY EBAY DIRECTORS!
What we can all do as sellers, is if we are not happy with a buyer, then when you leave feedback (only option is positive), is at the beginning of the field when you write your comments...... just put in bloack letters "NEGATIVE FEEDBACK" followed by a quick narrative. It means that when looking up a sellers' credentials, you have to skim through the feedback and just look out for the words "Negative Feedback".
You can also restrict who buys from you by going through the motions with one of several clicks through Ebays' guides. You can ban users with a low or negative feedback..... those without a Paypal account and so on.
I spoke with one of my wholesalers last night, and he tells me several businesses have now stopped retailing on Ebay due to the feedback ruling.
Internal Emails..........
Ebay, in their wisdom, and probably to gain a few more pence, do not allow emails to do with your listings (Questions and messages) to be sent to your OUTLOOK or Outlook Express programmes. Its a real pain in the backside, especially if you have more than one account with Ebay. There are also delays in the internal emails reaching your account, and in some cases, by the time they reach you (the seller), the moment has passed, and the listing is at an end or sold else where and the individual who asked the question has lost out, and feels ignored! .............. if they add anything else to their rules and regs, its not going to be a viable proposition to use Ebay as a selling tool............ thats if you want to make anything out of it long term.
Thanks for reading, and any comments are welcome.
cheers!
