People, as far as I know, there were never any French-Speaking Chatty Cathy's made in the 60's.  These dolls have all been repaired to speak French with another dolls record.  She is a European doll named Caroline, and her record fits perfectly into our Chatty's.  She says her name is Caroline and Caroline is NOT French for Cathy!! 

I have spoken to many people in Quebec and Montreal and not one person can say they have ever seen a French speaking Chatty Cathy or owned one ..... until now!!!

These dolls are fetching $1200.00!  I have tried to tell sellers when I see them selling the dolls, that they have been altered to speak French but they do not want to know.  Maybe they paid this ridiculous amount of money and don't want to face the fact that they too, have been deceived.  I don't believe sellers know they are not authentic.   I don't believe they are selling them knowingly, at least I hope not.
