Time off, does it hurt business much?

Hello Everyone! So  how has your experience been with time off? I have to go out of town from the 13th to the 22nd of August and I'm really afraid about what it might do to my business. I have been growing steadily for the last 4 months and since my recent separation and pending divorce, my income and livelihood for my family depends on it. Naturally, I still have my "day job" as a guitar teacher. I'll have that till my hands fall off, but it takes a little more than that to raise a 15 year old girl!!

So, what is the best way to go "on vacation?" Should I put everything in inventory listings with a statement within the listing that no orders will be processed till after the 25th for example? Or, is there a better way. Please feel free to visit my store and see how it's arranged at the present.
I am a new E-Bayer in terms of volume. I've sold a few things here and there for a long time but nothing major and organized until February of this year.

I'm looking for help from you successful experts that actually know what you're doing!! I would so appreciate any ideas you may have to help me out. Oh, and in case this is relevant, I usually take 5 business days to process orders. At first it was three, but the volume is overwhelming me right now with the other job, and as I said before divorce, oh yeah......and preparing to  homeschool the freshman in high school (she starts online the 22nd!!!! aaaagh!)

Thanks in advance for any help!! Have a fabulous weekend!!

no new auctions and just use the vacation mode for your store!!

wont affect your sales, sometimes even helps them! but a clear notation appears on your listings indicating when you are gone and when you will be back!

have a great vacation :)

go to manage my store on left side on your eBay page, vacation setting will be on lower left hand side and will walk you through it!

We just got back from going to a 5 day convention!

I agree with bushellcollectibles above, put your store on 'vacation mode'.

However the listings themselves will only have a narrow bar running across
them from eBay telling prospective buyers you are away.

I find that changing our store banner, that also appears on all of our listings,
makes a bigger effect in notifying prospective buyers. We run that in conjunction
with the narrow eBay bar.

Agreed, you want the sales to continue,
but you don't want to incur a negative for slow shipping!
