Money Back Guarantee??

Do you offer a money back guarantee when selling?

I normally do, however -- I have one item that isn't really returnable -- its a microfiber cleaning cloth.  I can't really take back a used cleaning cloth...

Now -- I know the cloths rock, I use them myself, and they are indeed exactly as described, I don't know why someone would want to return them anyway because its pretty clear what they are.  But say they did... PayPal will *always* issue a full refund including shipping if a buyer shows the tracking which proves they returned the item -- even if you stated that you had a NO RETURN policy on your listing and asked the buyer not to return the item.

I had this happen one time before -- a girl bought a jacket, she wore it, damaged it (spilled something all over it in fact) and returned it.  I told her once I saw it that the item was supposed to have been in the same condition and that i would not offer her refund and that I'd ship it back.

PayPal took my money and gave it to her anyway -- including the shipping charges.

Does anyone sell a perishable product -- dog cookies, beauty/cosmetic items, gormet food or tea?  You can't really take that stuff back, can you?  Not without a complete loss anyway.

So -- why do we have an option to list that we do not accept returns on some items -- when that really isn't an option?

Has anyone been successful in having a NEG removed?

I got my first one in nearly a year -- because this woman decided to scam the post office and cram her item back into the same package I sent it to her in and tried to pass it off as "refused" -- as a result, I have not gotten the package back.  I bet she will end up getting it back instead.

I told her I would send her refund when the item was delivered to me -- the same tracking number STILL shows that the package is sitting about a town away from her and shows as "refused" -- but not delivered back to me.

PayPal TOOK my money and gave it to her.  I called them and explained it -- they looked up the tracking and reversed it -- giving ME the money back.

She emailed me via EBay and said I had "24 hours to give her a refund or else she'd be forced to leave a scathing negative"

Doesn't that reek of feedback extortion?  She tried to scam the PO and pulled an illegal move and as a result the item isn't returned -- and she expects me to pay for her stupid move?

Feedback Extortion! Gah!

Long story short -- buyer doesn't fit the item she bought, requests a refund.  I say *absolutely* -- just send it right back.

She waits 2 weeks and packs it back up in the same envelope I sent it to her in and marks it "refused".

The tracking number is showing that she refused it and that it is being redelivered to me, but it hasn't gotten here yet and its been 3 weeks.  This happened once before -- a person opened a package and then tried to avoid paying postage and marked it refused and it was sent back to THEM about a month later.

Now this buyer is saying unless she gets her full refund within 24 hours she will "be forced to leave some seriously bad feedback"

I don't have her friggin item.  She went and scammed the post office and is probably going to get the item back at some point.

Have you had that happen before?  Had a buyer "refuse" a clearly opened package?  If so -- did you ever get the package or was it sent to them again??

Anyone know about vintage liquor?

Peg reminded me in my last blog... about researching, etc the value and worth of antique and vintage items.

Well -- my father in law stopped drinking years and years ago (he has passed away now).  He continued to get bottles of Scotch as gifts and he still had some of "the good ones" from years past that he had never opened.

We decided to put them on EBay... but even though we did do some research and emailed the distilleries -- we still don't have a good grasp of what the worth really is.

We're hoping that at least 2 people who DO know the value will place bids and get them up to fair/reasonable prices, lol...

We were not going to do anything else with the bottles anyway... But how -- if you know -- would you go about pricing such an item?  We only listed a dozen -- and still have about a dozen more.

WHAT do you sell? Tell me about it :)

What do you sell -- why did you start selling it -- how does it work out for you?

I sell clothes because I figure people should sell what they know and love.  I started selling all sorts of different styles, but over the last year I have narrowed it down to a couple of specific genres of styles.  Its a niche market -- but by having a lot of the same style I have found that it encourages multiple purchases and a lot of my items match into outfits.

I like selling clothes because they're pretty easy for me to store, organize, and are not heavy to ship and don't need extra packaging, etc.

My mom used to sell vintage pottery and glassware and she loved it, but it took her a long time to package her items properly/safely.  So -- tell me about what you have and how you got into it... is it easy to store your inventory, easy to package it -- why did you pick what you did to sell on EBay?
