Welcome Spring!!

Spring has sprung big time here in the Midwest!  The lilacs are blooming as well as zillions of beautiful yellow dandelions.  Not everyone appreciates them, but I love 'em.

We're grilling Iowa chops for dinner tonight, and enjoying the fresh air wafting through our new-to-us house.  We finally finished moving last Saturday, and though there are piles of boxes everywhere to be unpacked, it's beginning to feel like home.  We will be having a huge moving sale next month, but I still have lots of things that are more suitable to sell on the Internet.  Check back to see what I find to list.

I'm still recovering from a broken arm and doing physical therapy twice a week.  Physical therapy = PT = Pain and Torture.  I've had broken bones before, and PT, so I know how important it is, but it's not fun.  It's an unusual break, two in fact, at the ball of the humerus, and couldn't be casted.  The alignment was good so the bone Dr. sent me back home in a sling, which I still wear when I go out.  Around the house it's not needed.  It's still possible the bones could come apart, and if that happens surgery will be needed.  Hopefully everything hangs in there and mends in place.

Moving was kind of like deja vu for me.  When we moved into the house we just left, 30 years ago, I was recovering from pneumonia and could only be up packing for 10 minutes at a time, then rest for two hours.  Very slow process.  Lots of people came to help when the big day came, and it was a lot like that this time.  It makes unpacking just like a treasure hunt.  You  never know what you might find in a box!!  In spite of all the magic markers, and good intentions, there have been some surprises.  :-)

Happy New Year!!

Ok, this is the day we traditionally take down the Christmas tree and stash all the decorations.  Sooo, it also seems like a good time to spiff up the store with a fresh look.  I ordered new business cards and decided to use the color scheme for the store also.  It's nothing fancy, but it's time to start thinking about Spring!

I've signed up for Oprah and Bob's Million Viewer Challenge.  So far so good.  Of course we're only 15 hours into the new year, so I have plenty of time to adjust :-)  I still have to venture downstairs to dig out the stationary bike and the treadmill, but we don't want to put my body into shock.  Tomorrow will be soon enough.

I'm currently reading Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert.  It is an Oprah book, and has mixed reviews, but so far I think it may have some merit.  I've been needing to get back into yoga and meditation, and this book is leading me in that direction.

We had a quiet New Years Eve, just DH, DS and myself, one last take-out meal and watched a couple of movies, Ocean's 13 and Spider Man III.  I haven't seen the first two Spider Man movies, so DS is going to get me caught up.  Maybe then I'll better understand III.  Ocean's 13, geez, what can I say besides George Clooney, Brad Pitt and Matt Damon.  :-)

This is our year for really cleaning out.  I still have scrapbooking stuff to list and tons of other crafts and vintage.  I'll be having a CD sale soon, and believe me there's everything from Aerosmith to ZZ Top, with some classical, country and alternative thrown in, so check back from time to time.  Sign up for my newsletter, and you'll keep up with the changing content of my store!

Back to work!  Ya'll have a wonderful day!

Progress on Scrapbooking Sale

Thank you to everyone who bid on the Sizzix dies!!  Every single one sold, and my project is off to a great start.  I was a little unsure of just listing everything as auctions, and all starting at $.99, but it turned out to be a huge success.  I have a friend who sells that way, and she's been very successful, too.  I used to have an eBay store, but I closed it a while back, when sales wouldn't pay the monthly fee.  It's a real challenge to sell items from a store when they don't show up in searches.  The Share-Your-Wares posts in some of the groups are a big help, but still not enough to warrant keeping the store open.

Creative Memories are up next.  I have albums, page protectors, tons of paper packs, stickers, pens, cutting tools and lots of consultant-only items.  Most items are NIP.  Check back during the week, and get some great deals!!

My Loss is Your Gain

Ok, I'll admit it.  I'm a shopaholic, especially when it comes to crafts and scrapbooking.  Dad used to say my eyes were bigger than my stomach when I'd fill my plate with my favorite foods, and then leave half of it (if only I could do that today :-( ).  Well, my ambitions for scrapbooking, and the desire to have it all, were much bigger than I'll ever accomplish.  If I lived to be 300 I'd never be able to use it all, so I've begun the listing process, and will continue until it's down to a manageable amount.
