Most Recent Posts Shipping.Posted Jul-16-08 20:59:55 PDT So I've only recently started selling things and I realized I'm not sure the best way to charge for shipping. So far I've just picked a couple of methods (UPS and USPS) and had the cost calculated by location, but I'm worried that the shipping cost looks too expensive, even though supposedly that's how much it'll cost me to send it out. I don't want people to be turned off by my shipping costs. :-\ I guess I'm wondering how sellers set their shipping costs to be fair without not actually getting enough to cover the price. Or is that how some sellers do it, charging less for shipping and hoping to make up for it with the total sale price? Like I said, I just want to be fair. :) Feedback.Posted Jul-14-08 23:39:51 PDT I noticed that eBay has changed the feedback system- something like now sellers can't leave negative feedback. And while I've just now gotten around to trying my hand at selling, I already think that isn't quite fair. The problem with systems, it seems, is the people using them. It's that rule/law/fact-of-nature thing where a few people abusing something can ruin it for the rest of us. It's never happened to me, but I have known some people who have had issues with sellers leaving them negative feedback for 'unknown reasons'. But at the same time, now that sellers can't leave negative feedback, how should they respond if a buyer deserves negative feedback? It could be that I just don't know the system and that there is still something they can do, and if so then that's great! But I just don't know what it is. And on that same topic -- the feedback one, I mean-- I feel it's appropriate to mention that I always get sort of frustrated when I buy an item, pay as fast as possible, and leave the seller positive feedback and still don't get positive feedback in return. Not a huge deal, really, but a pet peeve of mine I suppose. Hopefully it's not just me, but if it is I guess that's okay, too. :) Anyway, that's really all I've got for now. Not monumental or groundbreaking, but there it is. :) And, just for kicks, here's what I'm selling. In case you're interested or want to buy it. :-P
Enjoy! Blogging.Posted Jul-13-08 22:54:30 PDT Well, I'm brand new to the whole "Ebay Blogging" thing. I'm not quite sure what I should post on here, so in the mean time I'm going to send you to my ACTUAL blog - Pencil to Paper. To save you a little time, I'll go ahead and let you know that it's not really aimed at anything except for bettering my creative nonfiction voice, as it were, and sharing funny/amusing/interesting things. It's personal to me, but hopefully in a way that is still interesting to people who...well...aren't me. :-)
So if that's your cup of tea, then head on over!
If it's not, at least you didn't have to waste your time finding out. :-P
