Designer items at affordable prices

any thoughts/suggestions for sending HEAVY package

to the UK from the States?  The USPS is SO expensive and items do not fit in flat rate box....

what have others used?

I would send smaller packages but would have to send so many... but I guess if they are willing to pay

total weight is about 100 lbs

I looked at 2 boxes 50 lbs each and that cost was priority $170 and express $278 yikes!!

and they want it in about 1 week....

any other suggestions?

thanks:)

? I send a lot of stuff USPS to the UK, it hasn't seemed so bad.. the dolls are somewhere between $5-$7 bucks. Is it something large or heavy? You're not gonna get a great price from any of the private carriers unless you have some kinda account with them where you do a Ton of business..

I didn't know if this was that shipment or an earlier one ("I looked at 2 50lb boxes") 100 lbs is heavy - DHL is Astronomical, tho, and UPS/FedEx aint real cheap neither, $170 bucks is probably a lot less than either of them will charge :-(

Surface rate is doubtless cheaper, but that's gonna take a good six weeks..

I know it is the six weeks thing... I was going to break it into 2 shipments beacause I could not get post to ship 100 lbs to UK?
thanks:)

Sorry, not to familiar myself with Intl. shipping, especially not heavy or large items.

100 lbs might be too heavy for airmail, maybe, is that why they wanted to break it up? I know there's a limit, but I don't know what the upper limits are, most of my items are measured in ounces...

Ask them if they have a 'preferred carrier' - is this like a company that might have a business relationship with any of the big carriers? I mailed some stuff to Luxemburg that was a huge box of dolls for some promotion and they had FedEx come and get them, and billed it to their account number -- which was great with me, 'cause this musta been Mega-expensive (they wanted it the day after).
