OHMYGOSHI'MNOTTHEONLYONE!?

For quite some time now (March 17, 2006 to be precise) I've been laboring under the mistaken belief that business had gone to hell and through some strange phenomena my store was the only one being affected. I've sat off to the sidelines waiting patiently for the numbers to come back up, tried the occasional "sale" or somesuch to get people to come inside at anywhere near the numbers that they had been before that fateful day in March but nothing worked. I've never been a huge volume seller, fact is, I'm basically brand new at this, opening my store in November of last year and gradually building up to the point that I was making nearly 1-2 sales a day...until...well...you know. After that fateful day sales slumped to maybe 1 per week. I still don't know what the hell happened, but at least I now know that I'm not the only one that it happened to and if it means anything to anyone else out there, I know your pain and I feel your confusion and I believe that the end is in sight because I'm slowly climbing back up, clawing and scratching my way to 2 nay 3 sales a week! Somewhere...over the rainbow....

I've been running a GET READY FOR SUMMER sale for two months! Not one bite! Sales are slow right now. Everyone must be yard saling!

My sales have just about disappeared since I opened a store. And I only had prints at first and ceramic tiles in the store, the normal stuff that always sells are active auctions. It's weird. I feel like I've disappeared lol

I have pretty much disappeared for two weeks. I just listed one thing last night. Without auctions, I haven't been selling any store items!

That and the economy -- here in Michigan, we believe we may be at the forefront of the downturn. It might just be headed your way!

Oh I feel better! My sales stink. My store sales are 0 right now. I am getting bids but no one is rally bidding things up to a profitable level, even whe I have something I think is a winner I am wrong. I think that high gas price are hurting sales too!

It's probably the same with everything, but unfortunately only certain cutlery brands or styles will bid to a profit in an auction, so I usually keep about 6 inexpensive fixed price items rotating through. This draws some traffic into my store and does manage to get a few knives a week sold lately. The "income" does virtually nothing to help out at home, and it's been months since I've been able to order any new stock but it does pay the fees. The little that's left over will keep adding up until I can use it to restock the store...or the fridge! Things are damn tight right now. If it's the same in other households, there's no wonder no one is buying.
