How Do You Praise GOD?Posted Jul-08-08 11:05:34 PDT Updated Jul-08-08 13:06:00 PDT Greetings! I hope that you all had a great July 4th! God has been doing some major heart work in me. I know that it is God because I, Jim Bushmiller, would never think of these things. It really has been an amazing transformation. I am caring about things that never mattered to me before, things that are close to Jesus' heart. But this did not happen without a grid shift in my thinking. God is creator, and you are created. God created you. Why did He create you? I am going to let you answer that question. After you have an answer to that question, read on and see if your answer matches up. If you created something..... say a robot, and you created that robot for one purpose, let's say to clean your house, and that robot that you created did just the opposite, it made a mess of your house, what would you do? Destroy it, and start over? The same is true of you. God created you for a relationship with Him and too praise & worship Him. The scriptures say that if we did not praise Him, nature would praise Him! When the wind blows and rustles the leaves on a tree, it is worshiping God. When the ocean crashes on shore it is echoing praises to God. When the moon shines, it is shining praises to God. When an eagle opens it's wings and soars in the sky, it is praising God. So, if nature can praise God, how are you? God created you to have a relationship with Him. How are you doing? We spend time doing things for ME all day long, do you spend a little time with your Creator? Do you give Him a little time in your day? How can you develop a relationship with anyone if you do not put in some time? God also created you to praise and worship Him. Do you spend time just thinking about his amazing splendor and glory? To me this comes about in my prayer life, when you pray to God it is like this..... Yea, God I need this, and this, do this for me, and oh yea I really, really need for you to give me this. Love you, Amen? God is this amazing being that is bigger than you and I could ever imagine. The scriptures say that He holds the ENTIRE UNIVERSE in His hand....... well we have not developed a telescope big enough to see the entire universe. What a amazing God we serve, a God that deserves our worship and praise. If you are having troubles getting your relationship going, try and pray everyday. When you do pray, spend a couple of minutes just talking and praising God, do not start with the "I needs", worship your creator! One other suggestion that has worked for me, is to read the Pslams. Always start your Bible reading with some Pslams, for me this prepares my heart, then after I have read the Psalms, I read other scriptures which I can understand better, as my heart is read to receive the words. Read them out loud to your Creator! The more time that you invest into your Creator, the more amazing things you will see. He will take your old heart of stone, and put into you a new heart of flesh. You will desire things that you never thought possible. Have a great week! - Jim
