Fantastic Four Silver Surfer movie review!

I give it a 'B-' for story and an 'A' for special fx.

The SURFER looked perfect! About as close as Hollywood could get to the 'real' look. The FF family carried on in their normal, dysfunctional manner.

The few problems I had was that the movie had Surfer's powers tied-in direrctly to the board, instead of he being a cosmic being himself. But I understand that they had to create some sort of conflict for the sake of plot. Not sure I liked Morpheus as his voice. And the mighty Galactus? A mere cosmic 'storm cloud'. Booo!

Also, there were no really BIG moments in the movie. Surfer shows up, they chase him, Doom pops up, they fight, Galactus 'cloud' shows up, Surfer saves the world, movie ends. Nothing in it that will have people talking about this movie years from now. Unlike, Spiderman, which I saw each one multiple times! :-)

If/when they make a part 3, I hope they focus more on Dr. Doom, who is a formidable villain. In fact, he is one of THE most powerful villains in the Marvel universe! No need to travel to outer reaches of space to find a bad guy.

easygoing summer popcorn movie!  grade: B-
