Archive - January 2008 'Cloverfield'Posted Jan-18-08 22:48:25 PST Updated Feb-23-08 20:27:03 PST Just got back from seeing it in a jam-packed theater.... One word.....
This movie puts us right in the trenches of the action. You see, hear, and feel exactly what its like to be a victim caught up in something completely illogical and totally unexplainable. Godzilla has NOTHING on the Cloverfield monster! The creature effects are A+. The acting...well, it's about as good as it gets for a horror movie. LoL The camera work will make you queasy if you do not have a strong stomach (My wife actually threw up -the camera movement made her that sick!) The coolest thing I like about it was that - just like in real life - WE DO NOT KNOW what the heck is going on in the frenzy of the moment! There are NO answers; no script; no saving graces; no heroes; no help. Just run run run and try to stay alive. Even more realistic- the corporate media refused to acknowledge that a MONSTER is attacking Manhatten - while showing footage of a monster attacking Manhatten!! ( I thought that was so classic. LOL ) If you are a fan of JJ Abrams and 'Lost' - then you will love this movie! B+ -Will Spider-Man 'Brand New Day'.Posted Jan-14-08 09:20:46 PST Updated Jan-14-08 09:22:29 PST
One word:
GARBAGE.
Whta a cop-out! 20 years of history completely erased 'Who Shot J.R.?'-style! Sooo.....we're just supposed to forget all of the storylines that took place since 1987 like it was one long 20-yr dream?
Very creative of you, Joe Quesada. This one left a very bitter taste in my mouth. |
