Archive - May 2008 Indiana Jones 4: movie reviewPosted May-29-08 08:23:51 PDT Updated May-29-08 08:27:58 PDT Kingdom of the Crystal Skull The Bottom Line: I'm a huge fan, and it's great to see Indy in action but this seemed 20 yrs out of date. Harrison Ford is OLD, and it showed. Didn't look realistic at all that a 60+ yr old could do all of this action, falling, getting beat up, getting blown up, surviving not 1, or even 2, but THREE waterfalls - and walk away with barely a scratch!! That type of action is severely outdated. Felt like an '80s movie. Somehow, for whatever reasons, Indy gets mixed up with Russians and a plastic-looking 'crystal' skull that does something special. Kate Blanchett is my favorite actress but here, her role was flat-out ridiculous. Shia - whom I liked since 'Even Stevens' - played (get this) a fencing, vine-swinging, globetrotting 1950s GREASER. Yeh. Sorry, but even as a fan I'll stick with the original movies on BluRay DVD! Iron Man movie was great!Posted May-06-08 06:42:33 PDT I... AM... IRON MAN! Wow. I couldn'tve asked for anything better. My favorite actor playing one of the coolest roles as one of the coolest comic book characers! Robert Downey Jr as Tony Stark was superb! He nailed it! In fact, his performance ranks up there with Patrick Stewart as Professor X IMO....born to play the role. He handled it so smoove as the billionaire playboy weapons dealer, that his performance as Stark alone was enough to carry the movie even without donning the iconic armor. A great supporting cast rounded out this movie for everyone to enjoi - fans and non alike. And just like X-Men II brought out more mutant mayhem, IRON MAN II should definitely show more armor-battling goodness! ALSO - The after-the-credits surprise sent the diehard comic book fans (incl ME) into a FRENZY! Sammy Jackson as Nick Fury?! The AVENGERS INITIATIVE?!!! Dear God, just typing that sends chills up my geek-boy spine! LOL And word on the street is that Downey Jr, aka Tony Stark, will be making a special cameo appearance in none other than......(drumroll pleeze...)
the INCREDIBLE HULK movie! (one can only dream) what a great time for comic book fans! We. Are. In. Geek. Heaven. -Will IRON MAN MOVIE!Posted May-02-08 07:20:28 PDT I'm taking my 7-yr old to see it tonite, but really I'M THE ONE WHO IS super-excited! lol The reviews are in and they're all raving about how great it is! I'm a Big fan of action movies - Bigger Fan of Marvel Comics - HUGE FAN of Robert Downey Jr.! This is bliss. See u guys at the movies :-) -W |
