About SELLING

As of May 25, 2008, I will not be leaving feedback for any Buyers until they leave positive and fair feedback for me.

I think that a lack of communication between Buyer and Seller only comes to terms during feedback. This is wrong! Problems or concerns should be addressed as soon as they appear.

Some Buyers can't or just don't read the ads of the items they are buying. And, they either don't read or just delete any and all communication from the Seller.

For instance, today I received a "slow shipment" comment.

#1 The ad indicated I only ship on Wednesdays. But the Buyer's payment didn't clear to after postal hours on Wednesday night and the Buyer choose the slow-shipping option (the cheapest and the longest) to begin with.

#2 The following morning (Thursday) I emailed the Buyer that the shipment would go out on the following Wednesday.

#3 The next Wednesday I sent the shipment and even upgraded the shipping (at my expense) so that the Buyer would receive it sooner. Now, this basically meant the Buyer received the item free, because I made no money on the deal.

#4 I sent an email Wednesday (after shipping) that I mailed out the Buyer's item and upgraded shipping, at my expense.

#5 The Buyer then had the nerve to leave "slow shipment" comment on my feedback.

Now, I was the ONLY ONE COMMUNICATING.  This is wrong!

So because of this Buyer (and you can easily look up his ID on my Feedback page - in case you want to avoid doing business with him), I will only leave feedback for Buyers after they leave positive and fair feedback for me.

If you have a problem with that, please do not bid on my items.

Day 2 - Foreign Postcards

I finally got all the foreign postcards sorted and somewhat organized! There are over 430 postcards from 36 known countries.

Countries include:

Austria ~ Australia ~ Bahamas ~ Belgium ~ Bermuda ~ Canada ~ Chile ~ Dominican Republic ~ England ~ Finland ~ France ~ French Polynesia ~ Germany ~ Haiti ~ Hong Kong ~ Ireland ~ Italy ~ Jamaica ~ Jordon ~ Japan ~ Kenya ~ Korea ~ Mexico ~ New Zealand ~ Norway ~ Portugal ~ Poland ~ Puerto Rico ~ Russia ~ South Africa ~ Sweden ~ Switzerland ~ Trinidad & Tobago ~ Turkey ~ Uganda ~ Virgin Islands ~ Plus, there are also some "unknowns"

Topics include:

Hotels ~ Goverment Buildings ~ Gardens ~ Zoos ~ Parks ~ Airports ~ Ferries ~ Steamers ~ Ships ~ Churches ~ Animals ~ Highways ~ Holidays ~ Native Dress ~ Islands ~ Waterways & Coastal ~ St. Lawerence Seaway ~ Horse Race Tracks ~ Bull Fighting ~ Historic Sites ~ Foreign Ads

It looks like 1954 is the earliest postmark. Just over 60 postcards have stamps / postmarks. Most are postmarked from the 1960s-1980s.

This would make a great starter collection or help boost someone's foreign collection. A good investment to resell as smaller lots or individually. I frankly don't have the time for that myself.

As soon as I get the USA and misc. postcards from this huge lot sorted and organized, I will take photos and put them all up for sale.

Meanwhile, if you are interested in particular topics or foreign countries from this lot, let me know and I will try to include those in my eBay ad photos.

Day 1 - "The Dogs"

I am slowing going through an assortment of postcards I picked up at an antique shop. I went through the dog postcards today.

There are over 300 dogs - so many different breeds! And I honestly don't know what half of them are because the majority of the cards are foreign and I can't read the description.

The ones that I can read or know from looking are (in no particular order):

Bassett hound ~ Sheepdog ~ Cav. King Charles Spaniel ~ Bearded collie ~ Smooth collie ~ Mastif ~ English setter ~ Golden retriever ~ Saint Bernard ~ Laika ~ Australian cattle dog ~ Beagles ~ Siberian Husky ~ Doberman ~ Bloodhound ~ Yorkie ~ Dalmation ~ Scotty ~ Pug ~ Schnauzer ~ Australian Shepherd ~ Chow ~ Jack Russell ~ German Shepherd ~ Poodle ~ Boxer ~ Oster. Pinscher ~ Briad ~ Bordeaux ~ Pinscher ~ Breton ~ Dachshund ~ Labrador Retriever ~ Irish setter ~ Amer. cockerspaniel ~ Ches. Bay retriever ~ Borzojs ~ West Highland white terrier ~ Greyhound ~ Pekingese ~ Bull terrier ~ Rottweiller ~ Amer. Staffordshire terrier

And that's just a few - many, many more breeds!

Most are new cards, from the 1980s-present, although there are a couple from 1960-1970s.  The majority of cards are foreign.

Some countries include (in no particular order):

Sweden ~ Austria ~ West / Germany ~ Italy ~ Luxembourg ~ Ireland ~ Norway ~ Netherlands ~ Czechoslovakia ~ Canada ~ Switzerland ~ England ~ USA

A handful I have no idea where they are from.

Over 80 of the dog postcards are stamped and postmarked. Approx. 25 cards are "used" (written on) with no postage stamp(s).

The majority of the stamped postcards are from Sweden and Germany.

The postcards are of photos of dogs; however, around 10 are drawings or ads about dogs.

A handful are duplicates, but many either have different addresses or contain different postage stamps.

The majority are in color, a handful in black-and-white. Sizes vary, but the majority are 4.5" x 5.75".

Over 40 are in the "Elliot Erwitt's Dog Dogs" collection - these are black-and-white and copyrighted as 1999. Really some amazing photos of dogs all over the world.

Overall I think this will make someone a great addition to their dog collection or be great for trading/reselling.

Well, that was definately enough work for me today... I'll have to start tackling the foreign cards.... STAY TUNED! :)
