Law officers in western Kansas are investigating the case of a woman who spent two years sitting on her boyfriend's toilet.

The Ness County sheriff says the woman at first refused ambulance service after the boyfriend called for help.

Deoputies say the woman's muscles had atrophied. Medical personnel had to remove her from the toilet because she was bound to it by "natural means."

She's hospitalized in Wichita, but is refusing to talk with authorities.

The boyfriend claims she stayed in the bathroom of her own free will. The Ness County Sheriff's Office investigation is continuing, and deputies could possibly file charges against the man that include mistreatment of a dependent adult.
