Most Recent Posts Mother's Day PrettiesPosted Apr-22-08 12:12:48 PDT So I just had a couple of shows, and they weren't what I had hoped. I know that with the insane price of gas and everything else that Mother's Day is predicted to be a bit slim this year, but she still deserves a little something! Why not treat her to a pair of lovely, handcrafted earrings? I just put up a listing for a pair of my signature "Simple Swirl" earrings in 14k gold-fill and in .925 Sterling. If you'd like to jazz them up a bit, follow the link in the listing to my store to see all of the interchangeable dangles I have available. And really, just as importantly, I need to come up with the cash to pay my summer tuition bills. $1650 for two classes--oy! Happy Super Bowl Sunday!Posted Feb-03-08 09:35:55 PST Updated Feb-03-08 09:38:50 PST While I'm sure my dh will want to watch the game either here or at the in-laws, I'm just not feeling it. Probably because I have my first exam of the semester coming up on Wednesday AND I have so much stuff I need to get made. Always too much to do and never enough time to do it! The football would be a fun distraction that I just don't need :) Yep, watching the Giants play Greenbay in the ridiculous cold was a hoot from my nice, cozy couch. Maybe if there was a promise of equally challenging weather conditions of some kind I'd be willing to say hang it all and commit... Anyway, if you're not a football fan and you want to shop be sure to stop by my auctions on eBay. http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQfgtpZ1QQfrppZ25QQsassZhecatestore The number keeps rising...Posted Jan-31-08 11:30:13 PST Well, so far there are 12, that's right, TWELVE pairs of earrings available for bidding right here on eBay. A few of them start at $.99, but most of them start at (or started at) $.01. It makes me so happy to see that at least a couple of them are going to sell :D If you need a gift for your sweetheart this Valentine's day but are strapped for cash give my jewelry a peek. I send it to you already in a box on a nice little jewelry card, at a price that's potentially cheaper than a card! Thanks for reading, thanks for stopping by, and happy bidding. Jenny Welcome to Hecate's on eBay!Posted Jan-29-08 12:38:40 PST I've been selling on eBay now for a while, about a year I think. The last year has seen a lot of changes for me! Jewelry is a rough category to be in. It's flooded with potential sellers in every category who are willing to undercut anyone and everyone just to make a sale. Usually they end up charging something ridiculous for shipping--but people still go for it anyway. My goal is to be a decent seller, rather than a "top seller," but if I can do both that'd be fine too. My feedback score is finally getting up where people aren't going to worry about it, and I maintain my 100% positive, which is important to me. I like starting auctions below a buck, just because it's fun. My shipping is unbelievably reasonable, too--no gimmicks or surprise charges from me! I know people come to eBay to find bargains, but I'd like to see people willing to pay for quality, too. Only ONCE have I ever recouped even my cost of the product I've sold (forget my time), but that's how you play the game to start. There are designers who do well here. They've been around a while and have built up a reputation and a repeat clientelle. My current thing is adding two pairs of earrings to my auctions every day this week. So far there are six pair available, with eight more on the way by saturday. They're all starting below a buck! It's a great way to sample the quality and workmanship of what I have to offer, so by all means GO BID!! Blessings All, Jenny |
