A kokeshi doll is roughly divided into the "tradition kokeshi doll" in accordance with a traditional form, and the "new style kokeshi doll" imitating this.

A "tradition kokeshi doll" is classified into about ten kinds of systems according to a place of production, form, tradition circumstances, etc.
