Event Budgets

Well I am about burnt out on research.  I have researched every avenue trying to make a product that is done tastefully yet will be appealing to everyone whether they are on a budget or not, which is something I am very familiar with.

If anyone has any information that they would like to share for events done on a budget post a comment or email me. (email listed below)  Everyone likes to save money.

When we got married we were on an extremely tight budget.  The only thing that was not paid for by us was the alcohol tab.  That was picked up by my father-in-law.  We were able to stretch his almighty dollar to the max for him though.  We decided NOT to have open bar until AFTER the meal.  There were some people who were perturbed by this but HEY when $ is tight you do what you can to prolong it.  Having done it this way our open bar lasted us from after dinner until they forced us to shut down the whole shindig which was around 10-10:30.

I also did my own invitations which weren't near as nice as the ones that I do now.  I used the quality card stock and envelopes but I would have preferred to have done it in one of the styles that I offer now.  The colors are vibrant and you can beat the cost.  I did my programs, table tents, invitations, Thank You's, and RSVP's.  With all of the ink I used I paid about 4 times as much as I would now.  That's saying a whole heck of a lot considering we married 9 years ago and every thing you buy these days is considerably higher priced as it was then.   Photo processing is the only thing that has actually gone down in cost which is a good thing for everyone involved.

My mom did my flowers.  Yes they were fake but I loved them anyway!  I could not have afforded to have them dried professionally so that they looked the way I wanted them to in years to come.  I still have my gigantic bouquet and a few other floral things that we had for the occasion.

I plan to put up photos of some samples as soon as I get the photos taken.  If you are wanting a photo of what the invitations or any other cards look like I can get it done.  The only one I cannot do at this time is the bookmarks.  I do not have any done yet for samples.  I can make a matching set with any design.

GIT-R-DONE!!!!

Well I have been working non-stop trying to get things just they way I want them and trying to make sure I am not missing anything I should be telling my buyers.  If anyone wants to take a peek......let me know what turns you off about my listing and what if anything I could add to it or change.   Since its been a few years since I sold my announcements and invitations I decided to make a table and insert it into my auction with some of the feedback I got from clients way back when.  I tried doing it another way but was unsuccessful.  Every time I would insert the little graphic it would throw off the alignment of everything else.  I GOT-R-DONE! though!!!

Right now I need to take my youngest one to pre-school. Then DH is calling and we are going to go over bills.  Talk about INSTANT migrane!!  His last fill was $718.00 in Wisconsin.  He said he hasn't seen a price under $4.04 per gallon. UGH!!  He's gonna have to start pushing the truck pretty soon.  That could prove to be quite difficult with a full load at 80,000 pounds together with the truck.  I will just have to remind him its mind over matter! LOL

Welcome

Welcome to my blog.  Hopefully I will have better luck keeping an Ebay Blog than I have trying to keep my blogger blog.  I am just getting started again with creating and selling.  I had a store in the past but due to medical and personal issues I had to put it off for a little while.  Tried a couple of different ventures but none were as satisfying as my cards and other products.  I am glad to be back at it and hope I can keep up this time.  I had many great customers last time around and enjoyed meeting so many people from different walks of life.  I am a small town girl living in a lonely world. LOL  Just kidding!  I have two little girls that keep the house filled just about every emotion you can think of., sometimes letting it flow out the windows and doors and letting the world know wether they are happy or not.  Daddy is a truck driver and spends most of his time with us over the phone.  Its great to talk to him over the phone don't get me wrong but sometimes its nice to actually see the people your are talking to. Know what I mean?  He is typically gone 5-6 days a week.  Home LATE Friday or early Saturday and gone Sunday again.  This is my creative outlet.  This town has nothing for any age group to do.  Unless its the 4th of July and by my calculations that's too long to wait.

After I stopped selling my cards last time I tried my hand at creating and selling digital scrapbook kits.  FUN but way more work than cards and not as satisfying.  I might try it again but on my own terms.  Please feel free to ask any questions.  I enjoy the conversation. :)  I am sick of talking about toys, and answering the question WHY, HOW COME AND WHAT FOR?
