Junior National Young Leaders Conference

 I am a freshman at Rivera Middle School and have been nominated to represent my school and community as a member of the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in Washington DC.  The Congressional Youth Leadership Council nominates exceptional students from around the country to attend an experiential educational program.  This will be a powerful experience, enabling me to interact with many prominent men and women whom I mostly read about in the news.

Attending this program will enable me to further my interest in the field of politics and reach my career goals of becoming a U.S. Senator. I maintain a 3.88 - 4.0 GPA.  I am involved in many extra curriculum activities and was recently awarded 1^st place in a local academic competition.

I’m unable to participate because of a lack of funds. You will be giving me an opportunity for a life-changing experience.  That is why I am writing to you today.  You can make a difference for you’ll be sponsoring me, and I will not only be representing my school but also my community which I’m proud of and grown to love over the years.  I’ll be the first in my family to be able to part of this program.  I always strive to set a high standard for I’m the eldest of 3 boys and my baby bothers look up to me as some sort of hero.

My participation in the Conference depends on whether I can raise the cost of the conference tuition & travel expenses to Washington DC, in sponsorships.  

                                                                    I don’t want to burden my mother for she already does so much for me and my family.  I am investing all of my energy, and every dollar of my own money to make sure I don’t miss out on this unique opportunity and in addition, am also trying to raise the funds I need, through my family, friends and neighbors, I have already raised $ 70.

That leaves me with a balance of $2,360, and I am hoping that some of the Local businesses will consider assisting me with some of these costs.  Your support for my sponsorship request would be greatly appreciated. I will contact you next week to discuss the possibility of receiving your support.
