Creation vs. Evolution

  Creation vs. Evolution

                        A paper by Michael Yater

Before I start I want to make something clear. I do not want anyone to get the wrong idea about me. This paper’s purpose is not to say how stupid evolution is. It is to try and tell people about the other side of the story and try to encourage people not to just accept what you learn in school right away. I really want to try and bring people to God. I am not saying science is bad or stupid, I love science. I want to be a scientist for a career and use science to support my beliefs. Science can’t prove everything but I do think that God did create the universe in a way that we would be able to understand what he did.

A lot of people say that there is so much evidence to support evolution and non against it. They also say there is no evidence to support creation. But what there not telling you is no matter what new evidence they find they do whatever is possible to fit it around the theory of evolution. Take Io one of Jupiter’s moons for example. Scientists say that there is no way that Io’s core could have remained molten for billions of years. But they found out that it is. The way they got around that is they say Jupiter’s gravity is always pulling on Io so Io is always stretching and relaxing all the time and that is what makes the core molten. Do you see the flaw in that? No matter what evidence they find against evolution they find a way to fit it around that one idea instead of realizing that “ Maybe the universe is not billions of years after all.

What do you believe? Do you believe that the universe goes on forever? Do you believe it was once smaller than an atom? Is it even physically possible to fit something that is infinite into an atom? Can you create matter from nothing naturally? These are some of the questions I am going to try and answer in this paper. It is my opinion that you have to understand both theories to disregard one. So not only will I talk about the theory of creation but also the theory of evolution.

The theory of evolution states that over 5 billion years ago is when the universe was created. They say that because everything in the universe is moving away from everything that the universe was once unimaginably small. Smaller than a dot on this page. It was an extremely dense atom. All 4 of the forces of nature were joined as one. And then it exploded all at once. The universe spread out. And over billions of years planets started to form by asteroids colliding with one another and making large masses. The gravitational pulls formed them into lifeless spheres of molten rock and iron that where pummeled by meteorites. About 50 million years after the creation of the universe a large planetoid collided with earth. It blew off chunks of debris into earth’s orbit and over time they joined together and created the moon. This is the explanation of why the earth is tilted. After several million years the earth started to cool and harden. The harder elements like iron sunk to the centre of the earth creating a molten core. This molten core creates a magnetic field around the earth that deflects deadly solar radiation from the sun. Then life started to form. First things like plants and single celled organisms. But after a few more million years the first multi celled organisms evolved. The process of evolution is where the theory of evolution gets its name. After a while the first humans evolved from apes. They changed into what we now call cave men. We evolved with our planet for many million years after that until we are what we are now. That is the theory of evolution.

It is a pretty wild theory in my opinion. How does that make you feel? All you are is just a random joining of elements that exploded and joined with more elements. You have absolutely no purpose in life. Just think about it for a minute. Now just like I said earlier, no one has any (solid proof) to support any of this. All they have done is take things that exist or happen and extrapolate this theory. By definition a theory is an idea that has been physically tested and has factual evidence to support it. I don’t agree with using computer programs to prove anything. If the universe did start from one infinitely small atom, (which is absurd to begin with) it is impossible to fit an infinite universe inside something smaller than an atom. But just say it was for a second. When it exploded it would have destroyed all life just from the force of the explosion. Not to mention the heat from all those stars in such close proximity. If there is no life and the second law of thermodynamics is things always move from high order to low order. Energy moves in that way as well. If that is true you could not have rocks turning into primordial soup that turns into the first reproducing organisms that over billions of years eventually became apes that millions of years after that became the first humans. That goes against the laws of thermodynamics.

That brings us to question how they know that the universe is over 4.5 billion years old. I have heard them say that they know because of things like carbon dating and radiation measuring and ice ring measuring. Ice ring measuring is where people look at the ice in somewhere like the North Pole and they drill down a couple hundred feet and there are layers of ice where it has melted and frozen many times. The scientists that discovered this said it represents summer winter summer winter. Have you ever heard of the lost squadron? It was a group of planes that were shot down in WW2. Several years later a group of people went to locate the planes in Greenland and had to drill down about a mile or more to get to them. When they got back a man named Kent Hovind asked them about the ice rings because he was trying to disprove evolution. The man says that he had seen them and that there were hundreds of them. If there are hundreds of ice rings in a period of a few years than it doesn’t represent summer winter summer winter. It just represents warm cold warm cold.

There are an almost unlimited number of variables to be considered. The question “What if?” comes into play here. What if that meteor only started giving of radiation a thousand years ago? What if the meteor let off an exponential amount of radiation at one time? There are many more “What if’s” to be considered if they where to be listed they could take up an entire book by themselves. The next question is “Where did that atom come from to begin with?” This is the question of origin. Both theories have this question at some point. No one can answer them any way. There it just takes faith that what you believe is true.

The theory of evolution was first created by a man named Charles Darwin. How dinosaurs became extinct is another argument. The theory states that a huge explosion spewed sulfur dioxide into the air. The evidence they have is from a little iridium that was found in the clay around the time of the dinosaur’s extinction. My strongest argument against this theory is that the scientists do not know how the dinosaurs would react to sulfur dioxide in the air. Just because it would kill humans dos not mean it would kill the dinosaurs. What if it would make them stronger and healthier? There is no way to prove that because they were not there.

There is a problem with the “We evolved from ape’s theory” as well. If that is true than there would be half man half apes walking around.

There is also quite a bit of scientific evidence that proves that the big bang was not a natural event. The first and most important is spontaneous generation. This states that you can get life from non life. This has been proved false numerous times. If the earth was once a lifeless sphere of molten rock than there could not be life on earth due to the second law of thermodynamics.

Before I go any further I have a question. What do you know about the laws of thermodynamics? The first law states that you can not create or destroy matter. The second law states that matter and energy move from a state of high order to disorder. Both laws disprove evolution. If things always move from high order to disorder than we could not have come from rocks because then it would be moving from disorder to high order.  I believe that God made the laws of physics like he did so that we could understand how things work.

If matter can not be created that means there must be a supernatural creator. If you can not create or destroy matter that proves that there was nothing that could have exploded into the universe. The second law states that matter and energy move from high order to disorder. Never from low order to high order.

The next piece of evidence that proves the universe was formed by a supernatural event (i.e. a creator) is the law of conservation of angular momentum. Did you know that not all the planets are spinning the same way? That goes against the law of conservation of angular momentum which states that if an object is spinning and pieces break off the pieces the pieces will be spinning the same way as the original body. If that’s true all the planets and moons and stars would be spinning the same way. But they are not all spinning the same way are they? The contradiction of proving/disproving a supernatural event through the observation of natural processes is a big point.

All of these are scientific facts that have been proven true through tests and observation. Another thing is the Great Barrier Reef. It is the largest reef in the world. Some scientists did some tests and watched it grow for 20 years. They concluded that it is about 4400 years old. If the earth is billions of years old then why isn’t there a bigger reef somewhere? I have a question for you. Why are there tides? It is because as the moon orbits earth some times it is closer than other times making the tide. The moon is moving away from earth at a rate of about one inch a year. There is something called uniformitarianism. Uniformitarianism is the idea that everything has always acted as it does now and always will act that way. Let’s say this is true for a minute. If so than billions of years ago the moon would have been much closer to the earth. The earths rotation is slowing down due to the fact the moon is moving away from us. So the moon raises and lowers the tide. It also affects the earth’s rotation speed. The earth would not only be spinning faster but the tide would be extremely high. This would help a flood. The earth would be spinning so fast that things would probably be flying of the earth.   All this evidence points to there being an intelligent creator (i.e. God) rather than billions of years ago nothing exploded into everything naturally like evolution suggests. Did you know that this geologic column they teach about in the schools is just a made up way for scientists to prove the evolution theory? It dose not exist anywhere but in the textbooks. So the next time some one is telling you about how the geologic column is proof for evolution, just simply ask them to take you to it so you can see it in person in the wild. Even if there was such a column it would be miles deep.

The theory of creation is much simpler in my opinion. That is not why I believe it though. I believe creation because there are things that have happened to me that you can not explain without God. And I believe that it is absurd and scientifically impossible that all life came from a rock 4.5 billion years ago. Who am I? Where did I come from? What am I worth? And where am I going when I die? These are the 4 questions that humans are trying to answer. The theories of creation and evolution give two very different answers to these questions. Let’s start with “Who am I?”, If evolution is true than you are just a random joining of gas that over billions of years formed into life. How does that make you feel? To know that I was made by chance doesn’t make me feel good. But if creation is true you get an entirely different answer. If creation is true than you are a human being made by God for a purpose. That makes me feel a lot better. Now let’s go to “where did I come from”, well if evolution is true you came from a rock.

Now the next question, “What am I worth?”. If evolution is true than you have no worth, you are just some hydrogen molecules that mixed with some other elements to form life. But if creation is true than you are worth so much that Jesus died on the cross for you. I won’t go into that very much so let’s just go to the next and final question. Where am I going when I die? Well if evolution is true you are going in the dirt forever. If creation is true you are going to spend eternity in Gods presence. I believe that heaven is going to be paradise. It is going to be much different than earth. I don’t know exactly what it will be like but I have an idea. I think that you will be able to see, hear, smell, fell, and taste the entire spectrum. There will be new smells, colors, sounds, and new things for all the senses. There will even be new senses. You will even be able to see sound, taste color, fell color, hear color. It will be paradise. All of this is just something to think about. You do have a choice. Which theory do you want to believe in.

To tell you the truth I believe in creation because I think that it is just too much of a coincidence that the earth is perfect to support life. If the living conditions were to shift just 2% either way we would die. The earth is also in a perfect spot to observe the galaxy. It is explained in the bible from Geneses 1:1 to about Geneses 2:25 if you want to read more on the subject. In a nutshell it says that God created the heavens and the earth. God said “Let there be light!” and there was light. Over the course of 6 days he made the earth and all the stars in the sky. He rested on the 7th day. It never says exactly how old the earth is but if you take the life spans of all the people in Jesus family which are in Matthew 1:1 to Matthew 1:17 this gives all the names of the people in Jesus’ family from Abraham down. Add all the ages from Adam to Jesus you get about 6000 years. This isn’t proof but this is what I believe. It also makes a lot more sense to me as well. It also says that there was a flood and I estimate that it was about 4000 years ago. The flood wiped out all life on the planet except Noah and his family and 2 of every animal. In my opinion he didn’t take the dinosaurs. This explains how they found dinosaur fossils in sedimentary rock in the middle of the Sahara desert.

It is my hope that this paper will inspire people not to just believe everything the school says. Do research, question the teacher, and try to tell people about the creation theory. It is being slowly weeded from our society and unless we do something now it will be gone for good. There is a war going on between the two groups the humanist (those who believe in evolution) and the creationist (those who believe in creation). If you are not going to shoot than carry bullets but you have to do something. Creationists have an advantage though. We know how it ends. We win in the end when God comes back. For more information on the end of the world read out of Revelation in the bible. It is my belief that the schools are intentionally trying to weed creation and Christianity from our schools to make way for the New World Order. The rapture is coming but you have to decide whose side you will be on in this war.

What do you mean exactly by "intelligent design"?
I do believe that God made us as he wanted and in his image (not the human form we see as a physical sense but morals, knowledge, etc...), you can find this in Genisis in the Old Testement.
