Raising and Breeding Bengals and other Exotic cats.

I Love the Bengal and Toyger cats, The Savannah cat is awesome.

I have right now two lovely new litters of  Bengal kittens 15 and 2 days old. They are so little I have not sexed them and prefer to wait until the mothers are not so nervous.

The grand father on the mothers side is Quad grand champion Kovus glittering gold. A gorgeous tri colored marble. The fathers are Komikoz big muscular spotted Bengal and one of the smartest cats I have had the pleasure of owning. We have taught him to turn off the lights, dance, beg, shake paws and up until he hit the 15 pound mark would do arial flips on command.. Of course he fetches though he doesnt always bring it back.  He will play hide and seek with us which is the most endearing game I ever played with a cat. Our other big boy is golden Ty whom is actually a distant cousin to the girls. Ty's claim to fame was his 4 month photo sent to Jean Mills (original Bengal breeder who has a large breeding farm) She said at 4 months that he was a very promising kitten for breeding or show, His burnt golden colored, highly glittered pelt, big wedge head, incredible size and sweet laid back personality make him an excellent dad and breeder.. he assists with birth and loves the kittens, helping in many ways.. Our males are extremely healthy and strong, I am in awe of the bengal cat.

Our two mommys are Zulu and Zora.. Two fablulous gals and sisters. Zora is a big boned quad marble very much like her dad Kovus, she sports a great pattern in a rare 4 shades, lots of glitter, clear contrast and puffy whisker pads. She is a sweet quiet cat and perfect mother. Then comes little sister Zulu (who is nearly half her size) and bosses her around mercilessly...

Zulu takes after her mother Ceder ranch Lareina and is a Queen Zulu or so she thinks.. She is a brown spotted bengal whom we thought not really breeder quality with less contrast than many bengals and a little ticking, but she has alot of rufinism (red orange color) on her chin, cheeks, underbelly and paws and a nice personality liking to be pet, so kittens with our Golden boy Ty had us dreaming of deep golden leopards and true enough we got a nice golden leopard boy but the two girls had the most incrediable ink black spots on pale silvery background. I am not sure what her recent litter of 6 with Komikaz has given us, just that 3 of them look very promising with sharp contrasted pelts..

First Litters... now 51/2 months old...

Zoras first litter with Komikaz conjured up 2 rare melanisitic babies carrying the Asian Leopard agouti gene,*Supposedly a rare black melanistic makes inky black clear spotted babies.

Often with The Asian leopards rosetted markings .

Since Zora carries recessive black and Komi carries recessive black we know it could come through but were surprised to get two.

Zulu and Ty suprised us with 3 most clearly contrasted spotted leopards one was taken by a well known breeder to be a breeder or show cat. One golden boy is on hold and we have decided to keep our dark ink spotted girl Inky Dink, which looks to be a throw to a mini leopard she is so tiny compared to her sibs. She has the best contrasted big spots we have seen but the personality is very Asian leopard - reticient, shy, nocturnal- the bathtub being her favorite place to hang.. not liking much to be pet or held, but I see blazing intellegence in her big nocturnal eyes.

So Big Surprise- our thinking Zulu, maybe not breeder quality- fooled us!   Her kittens turned out to be more clearly contrasted than our gorgeously perfect Zora's.

You truly never know exactly what the genes will pull out of the hat and her genetics were as good as her sisters, though she being a little plain ...

Since our little Inky Dinks personality reminds me alot of genius cat Komikaz I might take up training her because I believe its this personality that has the incredible brains.
I have owned cats all my life and probably will be someday known as "the cat lady" but these quite, shy Asian typy bengals are the smartest cats I ever taught. Great recall and will repeat tricks for a little tender fish.. I am not suprised sometimes to leave the cat room and hear the door knob jiggling ... they have figured out it means getting out, though not having opposable thumbs have not been able to get that door open yet!!

o.k. adding pics tomorrow. Hope to hear from you cat lovers..

well my pics were removed have to wait for ebay to write me back and find out why they were taken out. sorry...
