This is Jetty, who's up for adoption at Kitty Keepers, the Havre, Mt cat shelter.  Jetty has one eye, you can see that in the painting!  Kitty Keepers adopts to local homes only, they want to know the kitties go to good, permanent homes.  But you can help out, by placing a bid on my auction, where 30% of the proceeds goes to the Kitty Keepers shelter.  It's only one bid!  But it helps the shelter to purchase food and maintain a wonderful place for the kitties to live.

You can also help them but using Good Search, search engine  Each time you use the Good Search search engine, and select Kitty Keepers of Havre, Mt for your charity, a penny is donated to them.  It doesn't sound like much, but it does add up!

I'm so excited.  I've found an animal shelter to work with doing fund raising projects.

Kitty Keepers is my animal shelter of choice for the following reasons:  They believe in good, solid, local adoptions.  They educate the public about declawing and it's affect on cats.  They also do community outreach in the area of spaying and neutering.  They have a wonderful facility,  go see it on the web!  I also liked them because they're close to Vaughn, where we live.  We can go see the cats in person.  We can't wait to go there, and take photos of cats so I can paint them!

On my blog there are other ways you can donate to Kitty Keepers.  Open your purr-se and become their purr-son! :)  I'm creating a special Kitty Keepers Kollectors page giving credit to the people who contribute to this worthy organization.  I'm donating aceo cards to the project.  The Kitty Keepers Kollectors page will be on my horse art website.

You can also donate to them through the http://goodsearch.com search engine.  Use that for your search engine, and select Kitty Keepers in the donation bar.  A penny goes to Kitty Keepers each time you use it.  You can also put a link to good search in your toolbar so it's easy to access.  A penny doesn't sound like much, but it adds up fast!

We're inundated with smoke from forest fires here at Great Falls, Mt.  The forests are burning 100 miles from here and so much land is going up in smoke, you can barely breathe.

I know this happens in other states also.

I don't like the "let it burn" policy the forest service has now.

I wish they'd selectively log these areas, (which can, and is being done, nowdays) in a way that leaves the forest clean and beautiful.

When a forest is logged in this manner, the remaining trees are evenly spaced, it looks like a park beneath them.  The forest remains, intact and wonderful.  Grazing is increased as more light and air get into the woods.  People have low priced lumber when they want to build a house.  It's a win situation all around.  Instead we have this smoke and destruction.

I love spending my time in the mountains and the forests, I hate to think of all my animal friends that are being scorched, burnt, and run from their homes.  I also hate thinking of all the beautiful places I've gone, that won't be beautiful for my great grandchildren.  It will take several generations before the forest can repair itself.
