Archive - September 2006 OSWOA art card, Rocky Mountain FrontPosted Sep-29-06 07:33:12 PDT
Have you heard of OSWOA? They're cards like ACEO cards, only they're 4X6 in size. Yesterday was the official launch of OSWOA cards on ebay. If you'd like to see all the artists who are participating, type in OSWOA to the search bar of ebay and they'll come up. This is my launch card, an oil painting of the Rocky Mountain Front. I call this, "The Changing of the Gaurd" as the snow is replacing the fall colors on the mountains, much like the gaurd changes at the Palace. Real life Grizzly story.Posted Sep-24-06 10:34:43 PDT We were visiting with a rancher near Choteau, MT, yesterday. He told us a story about a grizzly bear sow and her three cubs.
He had some Hutterite boys who worked for him. These boys wanted to see a grizzly bear. He told them one day, he'd seen a sow and her three cubs down by the county road. The boys jumped into the back of the pickup with their cameras and they headed out to see the bear.
This sow grizzly was walking along parallel to the road and there was a fence in between the truck and the road. The bear suddenly came through the fence and charged the pickup. The rancher poured the coal to the truck and spun out in the road as he drove off. One of the boys was at the back tailgate, snapping pictures of the grizzlies gaping mouth, the other boy was trying to break the back window of the truck to get into the cab.
The rancher was a little worried, wondering if he'd get them out of harm's way in time. When the sow turned back to her cubs, she gathered her babies up and headed for the hills. One little cub stopped in mid flight to get another look at the people and the truck. He stood up with his front paws in the air and his head high.
The mom bear realized he was missing, and she spun around, ran back to him, cuffed him right and left and took off for the hills again. The chastized cub kept up with the rest of the family and they disappeared from sight. Brood mares on the Rocky Mountain Front, ACEO card.Posted Sep-24-06 08:32:35 PDT ![]() Caught this picture on our way up to Swift Dam yesterday. The mountains were especially gorgeous yesterday with some snow sprinkled on their tops. Fall colors are starting to come out. Gotta find a way to spend more time up there this fall! Focus FactorPosted Sep-23-06 05:09:45 PDT ![]() This guy has quite an ability to focus, his stare is almost unnerving! We were driving along the Rocky Mountain Front, at Benchmark, west of Augusta, Mt when we found this guy. I loved the way he looked at us and he was so pretty with his wavy mane and the sheen on his coat. This is a photo aceo card and I put it for sale in my store. This dog wants to drivePosted Sep-22-06 15:09:46 PDT ![]() We pulled up to the gas pump one day and this dog was next to us. He reminded me of my kids when they were teenagers and they always wanted to drive. I asked his mistress if I could take his picture and this is one of the photos I got while we were there. He even looks like he's trying to ignore you so he doesn't have to move over, out of the driver's seat. I think he's cute. I Bit off More than I can Chew! aceo card. Rooster ACEO cardPosted Sep-16-06 13:21:12 PDT ![]() We had chickens when my children were growing up. My uncle did chores for me one time when we had to be gone for a few days. When we got back, he told me hated doing chores for me. I asked him why? He said because my animals were so tame, he couldn't even walk through the chicken yard as they all wanted to be picked up and petted! He was right, the chickens were that tame! :) I painted this rooster in memory of all those chickens I raised that were so tame! He's posted in my ebay store for sale, prints will be there soon along with the original. Buckskin Camouflage, ACEO, Oil painting.Posted Sep-14-06 06:30:55 PDT
The hills in Montana are so dry this year, they've turned completely brown. Almost the exact same color as this buckskin horse, making him look like he's wearing camouflage of some kind. |
