Most Recent Posts My InterestsPosted Jun-24-06 07:43:49 PDT Greetings, If your reading this then you probably share my interest in WWI aviation. I have been interested in WWI aviation since childhood. My main interest lies in the Western Front area from 1916 to the EOW. I have been collecting Sanke cards for years and have a pretty good collection. I also collect WWI Ace autographs and other related items. I am currently building a replica Fokker EIII from the Baslee kit, which I hope to be flying in a couple of years. I participate in the WWI Fly-ins held every two years by the Great War Aeroplanes Assoc. at Wright-Paterson AFB where I have been fortunate enough to ground-crew for Fred Murrin's and Ross Walton's Fokker DRIs. I organized a WWI Aero Tour in 1998 where I and 26 other enthusiats traveled to England then to France and Belgium to visit such sites as: MvR's crash site, Cappy, Cambrai, Bertincourt, Lagnicourt, Ypres, Douai, Roucourt (where we were given a personal tour, by the current owner, of the Château MvR used for Jasta 11 during Bloody April), Markebeke (another tour of the Château MvR used while commanding JG1 in the summr/fall of 1917), Vert Galant, Ball.s crash site marker and grave, McCudden's grave, Little's grave, and much more. I always interested in meeting other enthusiats. |
