This is plain silly...

I don't know what to make of it other than the NY Post trying to sell more papers. We can recognize an addiction to something we do all the time like watching television. Do we call couch potatoes addicts? Or if have people constantly on their cell phones that they're addicts?

Come on, give me a break!

Need of opinions

Hope all of you ebayers had a pleasant July 4th holiday including our cousins across the pond in the UK. LOL. Our fireworks here in NYC went without a hitch, however the event with the NY Philharmonic on Governor's Island was a washout. :o(

Been running around the apartment cleaning up and tidying things. The good thing about it is you find old pictures of yesteryear, uncataloged and neglected, so you file that under your photo albums. Then, you discover letters that you've read before and wished and wondered "what if" or "whatever happened to...?" Ah, memories but I digress. The purpose of course this task is to find more quarry to feed the ebay vending machine here. I can't say what will be behind the glass door but let's say they're all good.

In the meantime, I've been prowling the discussion boards throughout this site and it's still overwhelming to here all the activities, how-to-guides & product reviews - which I much say paints a picture of how much you care about your craft. Mine's about writing and it's either a boon or a bane to have a blog to write into. It's all good but, without an audience to appeal to, it may be moot.

I've updated my "Me" page to include links that I've created, i.e Metro Motorist NYC & epinions. I've got a blog specifically for motorists in NYC. If any of you have separate blogs or love reading blogs, please comment on how it looks overall. It actually took me about three hours to build and I only have rudimentary HTML skills. Just because my user name is javajoop, people ask me for java language codes which is all foreign too me. I just like coffee.

Thanks for reading!

Happy 4th to all and make it a fun one!

Vacation, staycation or 'baycation this July 4th weekend?

I've settled on a 'baycation or, in other words, forging ahead on ebay. I've written a preliminary list for listing pretty soon. I've gotten to two pages worth of household goods, keeping up with the blogs and studying online on how to best approach this business as a newbie. However, I'm preparing for the best but expecting the worst. Can't say when the listing starts but I'll keep you posted.

The Waterfalls: more of a sprinkle than a splash

It's summertime in the city and there's a new attraction worth mentioning here. The Waterfalls -  an art installation by the Danish artist Olafur Eliasson. It will be appearing for a short time until Oct 13, 2008. There is four falls - one at Pier 35 @ the East River, Brooklyn piers @ Brooklyn Heights, another at Governor's Island and last but not least, at the foot of the Brooklyn Bridge anchorage.
