My husband now drives mine to his work and his truck sits. My little car get better mileage. I only go out when absolutely needed and then combine things to do 1 x per week to save on gas!
Hi! Manickats
Got one car we havent drove since last summer. Got to put a different drive shaft in it and put a new fuel injection system in it before we can drive it again...right now it only gets 9 miles to the gallon.
I only have one car, use to to commute to work... 80 miles per day... LOL would move closer to work if the housing market was better! would lose my BUTT on selling the house now... it is bad all around... I do combine my errands into one trip on saturdays...
The rise in gasloine prices hace had a real social impact for people on fixed incomes. They may postpone seeing their children or grandchildren or give up little pleasures they once enjoyed. Sometimes we look at just the money but there are other ramifications. Of course the worst part is they way grocery prices have escalated.
Hi! I'm still adjusting to the grocery prices Annamenter. I went from $160 a month 4 years ago to $400 to $450 a month now. And thats with us cutting back on things and what we buy. Just wish my hubby would eat baloney sandwiches more.
jazzy...my hubby is my biggest problem. He likes good food and is stuck on certain brands. I bought an "off brand" of coffee because it was on sale and never heard the end of it. So next time I will pour the "nameless" coffee into the can he is familiar with and see if it is all in his mind. I am experimenting here.
Gas prices are killing me. I have thought about getting a bike or walk to some places but it would be a long way to the store. I drive slow though... try not to drive over 55 mph if you can... that will save you money alone... I sure hope some small company starts up a company to put ford and gm out of buisness... that might be our only hope. Also if you have not seen the movie " who killed the electric car" go out and rent it... it will make you mad.
